Hi everyone! I am very new to this site and this field. I am serious like to have a baby. I am a 43 yrs old woman never try to get pregnance. I don't have a partner. Would like to get sperm from donor and use my own eggs. Would some one give me advice and suggest any doctors or clinics to go first.

I heard about IUI and IVF. Which one is the best or other to try first.  Your help would be a big help and appreciate. Thanks and good luck to all!.

Cheer !!!

Mary Ann welcome to the site. You may want to post this question also to Dr. Jacobs for his advice.

My two cents for what it is worth is to look up and find an RE as soon as possible in your area. From what I have read after 40 many doctors no longer feel that IUIs are of much use and you might need to go to IVF as soon as possible. I think I read on the INCID website (where they have a forum with an RE just for women over 35) that after 40 the success rate for IUI is around 2%. I am 38 and been doing some research on these issues. The other thing you might want to look into is a Day 3 test so that they can test your ovarian reserve. If you do not have an RE yet just have your regular OB do it in your next cycle. Good luck.

Hi Lila,

Could you tell me where to find the INCID website? I googled but could not find the forum you mentioned for women over 35.

thanks!
