So today is your big day with beginning the Clomid. I know you are nervous about taking it but you know it can never hurt to try! How did your ultra sound and blood work go on Friday? All clear?
The progesterone is a pain in the butt, however I got used to it. They had me take it from the day after ovualtion right up till 12 weeks pg. I know it does have many of the same symptoms of pregnancy but to be honest I knew when I was pregnant that it was not the progesterone, I felt different then I had the prior 2 months. My main symptom from the progesterone was the sore bb's and of course that constant leaking, other that I was fine. Don't get me wrong I was happy not to have to do it anymore when Oct. 8th rolled around. Do you think you will use them? I recommend it, I do believe they help although there are many docs out their that are not so sure.
As for me I am doing just fine. My allergies are still acting up but well what can you do right? I have been waking up the past several mornings with a sinus headache which takes till noon to get rid of so that is not so fun. I am hoping they get better soon.
I hope all is well and I will talk to you soon, Liz
Clomid did not work for me.....I have PCOS, so the dr. put me on tamoxifen, stating that it works better. That did not work either so then she put me on tamoxifen and dexamethasone, sad to say that did not work either. However they may work for you so I would suggest them to your dr.
Thanks for the support surprisingly enough I am not nervous taking Clomid I am going to have to have little interaction wtih DH in case I feel the moddiness coming on and I get tempted to snap!...LOL
My U/S went well and BW as well my FSH level was 6.0 which is great for my old age...LOL I go back on Friday for U/S and more BW to see what I have for follicle's.. she said she saw a few tiny tiny tiny ones on both that were toooo small to size so I guess my ovaries are well on there way....keeping my fingers crossed for a miracle to happen...
I am glad to hear your doing well!
Hi Kimberly, I am sorry to hear that Clomid did not work for you I have heard alot about the negative side effects I have been tested for everything and everything comes back normal so I am under the unexplained 2nd time infertility category, maybe you can give Clomid another round I fortunately conceived on Clomid a while back so I am hoping it can happen again...
We have a beautiful 4yr old daughter, after 2.5yrs of trying to conceive our second child at 41, we had our first successful IVF cycle, my son was born December 7th,2007, 7lbs 2.5oz's I thank god for my son everyday! Never give up hope!
Remember you are only as old as you believe you are. Think of yourself as 23 again, well I don't know if I would want to go back to 23 but you know what I mean. I know you worry about your age but also remember there are women out there having babies at 50!
I am glad to hear you are not nervous about the Clomid. I like your plan with dh. I should have tried that because I think my dh almost killed me while I was on the Clomid. lol I was unbarable.
Thats great that they saw some little follicles starting. On Friday you will get the count, that is great. So you decided to throw in the IUI this time?
I am doing well so far, tonight will be day 3 of my Clomid and so far smooth sailing, I had a very slight headache yesterday but it went away after a couple of hours....
We decided to throw in the IUI they kind of want it that way or they would not really be willing to monitor my follicles because the sole purpose was to do the Clomid Challenge Test and since we haven't had luck on our own they feel I have a better chance with IUI....
You must be soo releaved that everything is going smoothly now that your past your first trimester are you going to try to find out the sex of the baby or do you want a surprise!

How are you feeling? I hope you are hanging in there.
I know tomorrow is your appointment for your u/s and blood work. I wanted you to know I am thinkin about you, sending you all the positive thoughts I can!
Thanks for your support and positive thoughts, today's U/S and bloodwork went OK!
I have one follicle at 16mm on the left and a 12 and two other smaller ones, on the right I have a 12,11 and 3 other smaller ones...
My Estradiol is at 453 so I am wondering if one more follicle is trying to catch up but I doubt it, I guess I passed the clomid challgene test they said my FSH level for day 10 is 7.0 which is good for my age...
I have to go back Sunday for more BW and U/S ..
Iam trying to stay positive here but its not working.!
Hope your feeling well and resting lots, Talk with you soon

I know staying postive is hard but please try! Try to remember that you are going through a lot emotionally, you have probably set some very high hopes on the Clomid working and are fearing the worst too soon. I know this because I do the same thing. I think the worst and then I am not let down. I think it is a way we protect ourselves. Not to mention the side effects of the Clomid. Even if you don't think you are having any you probably are. I know for me I thought I was ok till my dh pointed out that I was a nut case. lol Very nice of him, I know.
What mil are you on of Clomid? When I tried it I was on 50 mil. for days 5-10. Your estrodiol seems very very good to me. I know they had told me that they like to see the estrodiol at 200 per mature follicle. Your 16mm follicle sounds like it is doing very well. The 12 and 11 still have a chance. I know sometimes I was amazed at how just a couple of days between bw and u/s would change the size of the follicles. For me they would just take off growing. I hope the same for you.
Please keep me updated. I am thinking about you and sending you all the baby dust I can!
Have a good night and try not to be to hard on yourself, you are doing just fine!
I went to my appt this morning, on my left I have a 21,14.5, and a 13.5 on the right I have a 16, and a 15.5 so they have really grown since Friday they want me back for just bloodwork tomorrow, I am confused I would have thought the 21 was too big at this point but the nurse said they are watching my LH so maybe its not quite there and they would like to see my lining be a little thicker, its at 6.5 right now because of the Clomid my Estradiol is at 909, I am worrying that they are going to miss my biggest follicle, Friday I think my LH was at 8 if I am not mistaken I just forgot to ask what it was at now....
Is the 909 level just for that one follicle or do you think maybe that number is also including the 16.5 that I have, it seems kind of high just for one follicle...
What do you think about this??? They are saying that I would most definately would trigger tomorrow night and have the IUI on Wednesday and if I don't surge on my own they usually like to do two IUI's so I would most likely have to have one on Tuesday also...this is so all confusing to me...
Just to play it safe I think we will also try on our own tomrrrow night for backup incase they miss my egg...
I just wanted to know your thoughts on this??
Thanks so much for sending baby dust my way I need all I can get!

Well lets see where can I start. Your estrodiol is excellent at 909. I know my re nurse always told me 200 per mature follicle so I would have to say you definatly have a couple in the running. As for the 21, from what I was told I am thinking that is kinda big and that they would have wanted to trigger tonight. However, I do see their point with your lining. My re liked to see the lining over 7 so maybe you re is hoping that another day could help.
For me I never had the LH surge on my own so I had to do the trigger. I thought 10 was the number for the surge but I could be mistaken. If you were 8 on Friday I would imagine that you are pretty well up there today.
My opinion would be for you and dh to make sure you try on your own. I would hate to see your re miss and you miss out on an opportunity. Just my opinion. As for the 21 it may be too big at this point but then again I could be wrong I am not a doctor. I do think your 16 and 15.5 have a very good chance of growing in the next 24 hours to get you to a good point. When I concieved I had 3 follicles 17, 17 and 15. I did conceive twins so it could have been both the 17's or it could have been a 17 and a 15 who knows. I guess what I am trying to say is don't rule out those smaller follicles. Your definatly have the estrodiol level high and I really believe you have more then one.
I don't know if I helped at all, I hope so! Please let me know how you make out. I am thinking about you and sending lots of baby dust and postive energy.
Thanks so much for your support, I agree with everything your saying, I am alittle concerned about the 21mm one I am wondering if they are maybe taking a chance waiting becuase they want the 16.5 and the 15.5 to get larger and they are waiting for those more than the 21 I told her about my concern on the size she said that they are also watching my LH surge but if it was 8 on Friday I would think I would have been ready last night..God I hope they are not making a mistake sometimes you have to be your own Dr....
I am going for a blood test today so I will keep you posted on how it turns out!
Thanks for your support I really do appreciate it!

So today they called me and I am a bit confused my Estradiol is up to 961 the nurse said that I wasn't surging yet so they told me to trigger tonight and have the IUI Wednesday I had told them that I felt very bloated and crampy almost like I was ovulating she said the bloodwork as of this morning did not indicate that the confusing part for me is that I asked what my LH surge was they said 3, I could swear on Friday they said 8 maybe I am wrong but what the heck was my surge on Friday if it was at 3 today??? I had already asked a million questions so by the time she told me 3 I didn't question her again....
If my Estradiol is so high how can the surge be so low I would think since my largest follicle was 21 yesterday its ready to pop like soon.....
She said she is guessing that I have more than one releasing I am guessing maybe the 16.5 and the 15 will make it too...keeping my fingers crossed...

I am not sure what to say here. I will share with you my experience with the surge. I have always ovulated every month, never missed. When I started getting testing done they found out I have a problem with my Estrodiol and that would most likely be causing me to not have quality ovulations. When I started the Clomid I was being monitored with bw and u/s. They determined that I was not surging on my own at the right time. I asked how this was possible if I was always ovulating they told me that it is possible for me to be surging but it may not have been at the right time, it may have been too late, after the follicle was over mature per say. I still don't understasnd how it all works but knowing that I have the problem with the Estrodiol and then not surging when the follicle and hormone levels are ready they are figuring that there is more to the hormonal issues then just the Estrodiol.
If you are correct and your LH went from 8 to 3 from Friday to Sunday then I would have to say that their is a possibility that you ovulated already. It does not go down from everything I know about it.
I hope you don't think I sound negative, I really am not. I think you still are in the running, after all I am not a doctor and they probably know a heck of alot more then me. lol I just want to share with you what I personally have experienced.
I am thinking your re wanted to get your lining thicker and figured that the smaller follicles would catch up, maybe missing the 21 but you still have the smaller ones that are border line. With you high estrodiol level I would think that you definatly have more then one follicle that is mature and will ovulate this cycle.
Do you go Wed. for your IUI? Pleae let me know how you are making out.
Thanks for your advice and encouragement my IUI is tomorrow we did try on our own last night when I had my U/S on Sunday I had asked if she thought that the 21 was too big she said they would be able to tell if it had released becuase they would see a fluid filled follicle I don't completely understand everything...
I will ask tomorrow what my surge was on Friday vs. Sunday and see what they say maybe I misunderstood but it sure sounded that way on my answering machine..
There is no way I could let this confusion go by I want to make sure everything is being done right....
I feel like calling them today and asking becuase its bothering me but I don't want to act like I am second guessing them even though I am....
Enough about me how are you feeling are you feeling the baby kicking?
