Lovenox through entire pregnancy

Hello there,
I have just been instructed that I will need to take Lovenox for my entire pregnancy, as opposed to the expected first 12 weeks. I am now 10 weeks pregnant, and already running out of areas on my tummy to do these. I cannot imagine finding enough space, let alone free fatty tissue to do them months from now! Does anyone have any tips or other places on your body your OB has ok'ed to do shots at? Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks!
Dani

Dani,

Congratulations!!

I have done Lovenox through one pregnancy, and now have started again with this pregnancy.  I do Lovenox through the pregnancy and six weeks post-partum, so I have TONS of shot locations to scout!!

I generally do the morning shot to the right of my bellybutton, the evening shot to the left.  I will find a spot that I haven't used in a couple of days to give the bruising time to heal.  I will shoot close to another injection site, but not right on it, so I end up just using the skin on my abdomen from hip to hip.  I cannot go too far over on the hip, nor can I go above my bellybutton because of the pain, but I just rotate and end up using the same sites over and over and over again...just not the EXACT same sites.  I've heard that you can actually use your uppper thigh, but I would ask your doctor.

Hope this helps!!
