Thank you veroki, yeah i was worried about the hep recall at first but i've finely quit hurting from the switch and at this point I am feeling nice fetal movement and I'm able to sleep through the night so, I'm just glad to have found this site where you all have been taking the lovenox and have had good results.

betsy,

I think that class B drugs are ones for which the safety for use in pregnancy has not been explicitly proven, but neither is there any real indication that it is harmful. I am taking a class B (etanercept) for my rheumatoid arthritis...when I check it out, there have been mouse studies to check for effects during pregnancy and these have shown no difference compared with control, but there haven't been human studies reported. They tend to say that use in pregnancy is ok when the benefits of the treatment outweigh the risks...hard to make that decision when you don't know entirely what the risks are...but there might be great risks to the preganncy if you remain untreated.

Veroki and LentilBird - thanks for your replies. I decided to give Lovenox a third shot (har) instead of trying Arixtra (the thinner that crosses the placenta) or stopping thinners altogether.

Veroki - I feel certain the Lovenox affects my mood chemically, not because I'm upset about taking it, although admittedly, that didn't help in the beginning.

This forum was helpful in convincing me that I have to take this precaution and find a way to get through the bad thoughts.

Does anyone take St. John's Wort?

Thanks again, Everyone!

betsy~ heres what i found on :St John’s Wort
Originally thought to relieve the body of evil spirits, St John’s Wort has anti-viral and anti-inflammatory properties, and can be used to help premenstrual syndrome, minor wounds and burns, hemorrhoids, ear infections, viral encephalitis and seasonal affective disorder, among others. St John’s Wort is also a popular home remedy for people suffering from mild depression.

Very little information about the effects of St John’s Wort on a developing fetus exists. Since sufficient tests have not been done, most doctors will recommend that you not take St John’s Wort while you are pregnant. There is some evidence that the herb causes uterine contractions in pregnant animals who have been given St John’s Wort, which could indicate a risk of preterm labor in pregnant women who take the herb.

what is your doctor suggesting for your depression?

bdantonio~ I was wondering if you were breastfeeding while on lovenox?
Also, did or does your baby have colic? It is not caused by anything, I know...I was just wondering if someone knows of anything to soothe a baby with colic?

so i had an u/s yesterday and everything is still looking good. she weighs 3 lbs already and im crossing my fingers she weighs 8lb or less by the time i deliver but with me packing on the lbs maybe she is too! doc said shes right in the middle, not too big not too small. ill be 29 weeks tomorrow and im growing more impatient everyday, 10 more weeks to go, it cant come quickly enough. im looking forward to having her and not worrying about her being ok, but im also looking forward to getting my body back so i can lose all this weight! im up 40lbs and i asked my doctor if i should change my diet and he said no b/c shes growing fine and is healthy, but i thought that was a ludacrist answer considering i weigh 236lbs and what about my health??? it cant be healthy to have put 40lbs in 29 weeks? granted i dont have high blood pressue or GD but still. *sigh*

I am breastfeeding as well. I had a pediatrician ask me why I was nursing while on a blood thinner, so was just curious what yours said about it. The doctor I see for her said it was fine and that she going to do more research, in an unpublished library, but told me keep on nursing. And Yes she has colic...It is very hard. She is a good baby and will sleep some nights for 6 hrs at a time but during the day she cries alot. She has a lot of gas and it hurts her stomach. Ihave tried the gas drops, but I think I am going to try Gripe Water and see if that works. Have you ever heard of it? I am glad to hear your little girl is doing so well.

no never heard of it t if shes that gassy you should keep a log of what you are eating and see if something you are eating may be giving her gas.  If i have apple juice my daughter gets gassy and very fussy.

hatfletcher~ you may also want to change the bottles you use, the ones i registered for are the playtex drop ins and those are supposed to signifcantly reduce gas and colic in babies, unless of course that is what your using already, let me know and ill take them off my registry! lol! ive always read it is not known whether lovenox crosses breast milk and its not reccomended to breast feed. but then a couple of you guys said your doctors said ok so it gave me hope that i still might be able to. im meeting with a pediatrician in 2 weeks and that was one of the major concerns i was going to bring up to him.

bdantonio~ at my rate i wouldnt be surprised if i gained 60lbs. so disappointing when i worked so hard to lose all that weight. i guess ill just have to do it all over again.  i just wish i wouldve been more strict with myself from the beginning so i would be where i am now.

im going to try to finish my last 10 weeks on a calorie controlled eating plan in hopes to only add max another 10lbs on to the 40 ive already gained but we'll see how that goes. also it doesnt help im the maid of honor in a wedding 2 months after i have the baby and i dont want to look like a bloated cow.  sorry i know im complaining but when your as big as me you dont want to add anymore than necessary. i really want to stay under 245lbs.

Thanks I have been drinking apple juice, and have not even thought about all the things I eat and drink. I am using Aveantbottles they are supposed to reduce colic as well, but I may actually switch to the drop ins. The doctors do keep telling me to continue nursing, and I am...If I were you I would ask the doctors like you plan and get several opinions. I got more that told to nurse than the 1 that questioned it. I also heard that you loose more weight breast feeding, so if you are concerned with your weight defiantly consider nursing. I have to say that I lost all but ten 10ibs in the first week and half.
