Thanks Watergazer...I din't know about the osteoporosis risk. I'll increase my calcium intake.
leigh328, I so feel for you m/c losses. It really is tough and so many people think it's nothing...good luck with your efforts ttc!!!
I am really thrilled today because yesterday I went for my second hcg test to make sure I am doubling, and I am more than doubling...in the past I always had really weak scores, so this is really good news.
watergazer~ yeah i keep gaining weight like crazy, i finally had to invest in some maternity tops that dont hug my body, my love handles are out of control! if i was all belly id be loving it but im all belly, butt, thighs, and love handles.........sick. id take 160lbs over 232lbs anyday! lol! but i realize you are shorter than me, not by much though im 5'4.
i feel like the baby is so erratic with her movements, some days i feel her all day long, other days i find myself pulling out the doppler mid-day just to make sure shes still ok. ill be 28 weeks this friday, i thought her kicks would get more frequent and stronger, but i felt her move more when i was 20-24 weeks? idk, it freaks me out. only 11 weeks or less to go! i cant wait to have her but im still really freaked out about becoming a mom and how much my life is going to change.
26 yrs old : 11/30/06 1st pregnancy ended in fetal demise in utero @ 15 weeks(boy). heterozygous PAI-1 5G/4G Allele. 7/7/08~ baby girl with help from lovenox
veroki--I think that everyone freaks out a little about becoming a mom. And I think it's just because of the change that is going on in your life. But once the baby comes......you can't imagine what your life was like before you had kids.
veroki~ I remember those days, when I was about that far along I often wondered the same thing, about the baby moving...They tend to go through stages, I think...they also move more sometimes when you eat or do certain things...if you lay on your left side and get really still you should feel her and if you eat or drink something with sugar in it and sit or lay still for a few minutes she should move...on days you dont feel her as much she maybe sleeping more during the day and up more at night...babies as fetus' do have periods of sleeping and being awake...I wouldnt worry too much if you feel her move during the day...gracelyn did the same thing and I worried too, but worrying only makes you stressed, and they can sense stress, and will not move as much....
tuesday the 15th i went to the hospital to see if my baby was healthy, but didnt want to move. so monday i have another appt. in the hospital im nervous. i just want everything to be ok.
So far so good. I am into week three of shots. The bruises are sometimes tiny, and other times they are giant and purple. I don't know if I'll have enough room on my abdoment to rotate around without hitting bruises!
I had some spotting yesterday, which kind of freaked me out. I am envious of women who never had miscarriages. I am terrified everytime I pee that I will find blood.
Hi, I'm new to the site and I was wondering if anyone has had to switch from heperin to lovenox... I am 21 weeks in and the hep was doin fine but since the recall we can't find anymore... so 1 week ago I switched from 2 shots of 100mg a day of hep to 1 shot of 40mg lovenox. If anyone has any advise please let me know.
I recently found out that I have lupus anticoagulant. Sadly, doctors did not test me until after my son was stillborn. I was 38 1/2 weeks when he just stopped moving (Angel date 01/29/08). It makes me angry that the medical field does not do these test routinely, that one has to suffer through losses first. If I had been tested earlier maybe my son would be here today. I also suffered a miscarriage in 2006 at 11 weeks. I have been told that if and when I get pregnant again I will have to do the Lovenox injections along with the baby aspirin I am on now since my consultation with a high risk doctor. I am sacred that I will not be able to do these injections myself. My mind is spinning a mile a minute.
Welcome, Jerivalyn and 2babies. This is a fantastic site and there is a lot of good information on it. Unfortunately, we have all been brought together by sad circumstance but there is a lot of comfort in knowing that we aren't alone and there are many success stories here too. I pray things work out well for you guys and once again welcome!
I did want to let everyone know that today we had our "Big" ultrasound to check the overall health of the baby and determine gender. Thankfully, all measurements came back good and from what they can tell the baby is healthy and exactly where it should be at this time in its life. We have been anxiously waiting to find out the gender and are blessed that we are having a little girl.. 19 weeks along and only 21 to go but as you can imagine we are scared to death because we have never gotten this far with the other 4, they always ended before 10 weeks... We will keep the faith because that is all we can do.
to all I kno the feeling i lost 5 children anywhere from 6 weeks to 14 weeks its never easy however imade it to the end with two of them and have 2 beautiful little girls. Also to just let you know you will check everytime you go the bathroom till you deliver i did.
To 2babies I know how scary it sounds to give yourself a shot but after a few times it becomes second nature and you don't even notice it, because all you think about while doing it is that this is for my baby and all of us know the pain of losing a baby at one point or another. I lost my first baby at 7 weeks and my doctor went on and did the test instead of waiting and I will never be able to thank her enough. We found out 2 weeks ago that we are having a boy and that he was healthy but that was before the switch to lovenox so now it's a whole new worry. Hopefully everything is going fine.
Hi Everyone, I've been reading your forum and have found so much important information. Thank you. I have homozygous copies of more than one blood clotting gene mutation, including Factor V. My mom has one copy and my other family members have various copies. My first cousins have had miscarraiges - my mom had no miscarriages. I have been on baby aspirin for 4-5 years since we found out about our genetic history. I am 12 wks pregnant and have been taking Lovenox on and off for a week. I have stopped it twice because of the side effects - I have difficulty walking (joint pain, stiffness), shortness of breath, shooting internal pains and thoughts of suicide. I'm prone to depression, but with the Lovenox, it got worse. The hematologist wants me to try Arixtra, which I read can cross the placenta. I also read that all of these thinners are Class B, meaning FDA hasn't approved them for use in pregnancy, but they're still safe? That confuses me. Did your doctors give you "odds" to consider when deciding whether to use blood thinners? Thanks!
thanks for the advice on motherhood, im sure ill take to it just fine, just a little nervous still.
jerivalyn~ from everything ive read lovenox is the most "pregnancy friendly" low mecular weight heaprin on the market. id be more concerned that you were on heaprin with all the recalls and what not. everyone on this site has been on lovenox and had healthy babies so i dont think there is reason for alarm cause of the switch.
2babies~ although it depends on who you ask, i think that the shots are a piece of cake. it truley is 2nd nature once you get going on them. mind over matter, whats the alternative right? i think we can all agree the pain of losing a child is not something we want to experience again and if lovenox keeps that from happening than we have to do what we have to do. youll be fine, trust me.
KJB1028~19 weeks?! time is flying by! yea a little girl just like me! im am so happy this is working out for you guys. the fear is always going to be there no doubt and i had trouble with this myself , but dont forget to enjoy this a little too, you guys have come this far and i have faith that everything is going to be ok.
betsy~ i have to say that i have not heard of any of those symptoms being associated with lovenox, were all on the same drug here and some of us are luckier than others when it comes to side effects. but depression? are you sure thats not because of how you feel about having to take this drug more so than an actual side of effect of the drug? there are medications approved for depression while pregnant, definatley talk to your doctor about that. taking your injections on and off doesnt help you or the baby, you need to take it as prescribed. ive heard that arixtra can cross the placenta and should only be used if the mother is having a severe allergic reaction to lovenox(ie, breaking out in hives, fainting, serve migraines, etc..)yes lovenox is a class b drug, but it has worked for thousands of women, sure there are odds that you can go off of this drug and carry a baby to term but then youre also faced with the odds of losing another baby, most of us are not willing to take that chance. you need to weigh out your options and discuss them with your doctor for sure.
