Yep, I hear you I wish I heard more positive stories about this procedure, I do hear from alot of the ladies at the YMCA about their good experiences doing this procedure but not alot here. It is suprising how many people have gone through this when you start to chat with other ladies around you, it helps to make you feel less alone.
My Doc. asked me at the start of all this if I wanted a referal to a psychologist to help with the stress and give some support, it's a standing offer so I know that atleast my GP has some understanding of how hard this process is ( his nurse had just gotten BFP doing IUI when I started looking for medical help with ttc). It must have been a frusterating day for you Heather I wish that some of the nurses and even doc's we deal with had more awareness of how stressed we are, and how fragile our emotions are ( my husband learned that one the hard way).
I usually don't make it to the testing, my AF is usually day 26ish so I know before they would test, if nothing else it saves me some$ on hpt's. I started ovulating last night on the right side and this am the left side is just gearing up to be annoying, I am hopeing that this time with the eggs already hanging around Jeff's swimmers will have a better shot of getting their directions right before they run out of steam. The stats show that the eggs are viable for atleast 12 hours after ovulation so I'm just in the window for most of them. And the left side will be spitting them out in the next few hours so I should have all the bases covered.
Well I've got to get the brat off to school and then " help" the old man get his deposit made..... Baby dreams to us all. Lynne.

The YMCA must be the place to hear all the positive stories because that is where I hear mine. My step daughter goes to preschool at the Y and one of her teachers has a friend who just had a successful IUI from this same doctors office. That gave me some hope. Not sure how old they are. It seems that everyone who is successful is about 23 or 24.
That was nice of your doctor to be so understanding. This office is a lot more understanding than the previous office. I sometimes feel too that I am just extra emotional and fragile through this process. It feels terrible because I am usually so strong about things. I just think they all need training classes or something to understand this process. Last night when she told me I would need to wait until Friday to test she asked if that was all right and I said I guess it needs to be I don't have too many options, we are just excited to find out. And she said she understood. That almost took me over the edge to lecture her about how she must not understand....
Last night after I wrote here I was so tired I laid down and went to sleep and woke up to tell the kids good night and then when back to sleep. I have been so tired the last couple of days which could be a good sign or just a sign af is on the way.
Hopefully this IUI is the one to work. On the tww website one person talks about having their 3rd IUI and it worked that time. They just knew it would. That will be you.
How are you holding up Susan?

Hi, I'm new to this board. Me and DH have been trying for a baby since Jan 2004. Took 6 rounds of clomid in Spe 04-Jan 05 and then 3 cycles of Femara. HSG is fine. DH's sa is fine and my b/w normal. Had a IUI(FSP) last month but BFN. Now going for another cycle. Had u/s this morning and it showed 2 mature ones(20,22) on right and 1 small one (15) on left. But OPK is negative. So having HCG tonight and scheduled for IUI on Thursday morning at 9.30AM. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. Please keep me in your prayers.

Afternoon Heather, Well the IUI went as planned, and the old man complained that I was more of a hinderance than a help to get his deposit . The first try he had 8.5 mill swimmers, the 2nd 24.5 and ( where the heck did they come from) this time over 97mil. The nurse and the lab tech were very pleased with the results and kept saying that the third times the charm.
Hey Susan, what's happening, us hormonal women want to know....
Hi wannababy78, welcome to these boards, I've been hanging out here off and on for over a year know, it's always nice to have the support here when you need it. My old man pointed out a poster at the clinic for a monthly support group that I might be interested in, I don't think so, I like the fact that I can come online and chat when I have the time and not on any schedule.
I made a follow up appt with my specialist for the end of June, if I am positive by then I can always cancel. If I would have waited I would not have gotten an appt until August. They were really quick today, no real waiting except for the swimmer wash process that takes 30 min. Then I came home and had some lunch and Jeff let me rest for another hour before we got on the garden. He took today off for the appt so to kill 2 birds with 1 stone we got the garden ready for rototilling. Now it's pouring cats and dogs out there so I guess the rototiller guy will be rescheduling.
I guess I should get my butt in gear and get supper on the go, I put the roast in a couple hours ago and just have to get the potatoes peeled for mashing, and some veggies set up. Baby dreams to us all. Lynne.

Hey Lynne, that is great that you are through your 3rd IUI. Sounds like the 3rd time just might be a charm.
I went at lunch today and bought an early hpt. I will take it tonight and see what it says and then take one in the morning. I have heard that the morning p is better than the evening p. Not sure if that is true.
i am extremely tired but I get that some times just due to af.
I am concerned that I will become a hypochondriac at this rate checking all my symptoms every minute.
Hi Wannababy78. I have been here on these boards probably about the same amount of time as Lynne. I sometimes just read posts other times join them. I have not heard about all you are doing before but I wish you much baby dust.
I am with you Lynne on the support group. This is so much better on my own time. I am not sure I would like a support group with a specific time frame.
Take care and keep us updated.
~Heather

Hi, I'm doing my IUI on Thursday. Me and Dh have been trying Since Jan 04. Took clomid for 6 cycles on 2004, and 3 cycles of femara from Nov 05-Jan06. Had IUI on last cycle with 100mg of clomid but BFN. This morning I had my u/s and I have 2 follicles on right and 1 small one on left. Going to take my trigger shot tonight and have IUI on Thursday. I'm just nervous that I'm going to Ovalute early b/c I have mild pain and have lot fertile cervicel mucus. Keeping my fingers crossed for this cycle.

Well, just did my first early hpt and it was negitive but I have been drinking tons of water today so I don't know if that will affect it.
As long as af does not arrive I will test again tomorrow morning. I hear the morning is the best time.

ITS BFP!!!! ITS BFP!!!!! OH My Goodness ITS BFP!!!
How accurate are these tests? Should I call my doctor? I don't know what to do.
It can be done with IUI and clomid.... although I have not had the baby yet. I am so scared with this being my first pregnancy because I hear mc is common. But as my husband says I need to keep positive.
I can't think you both enough for being so supportive.
Now, you get your BFP's and we can all 3 move together to the other section.

Oh my god.... I'm soooo excited.... Heather I just got the worst case of goose bumps....I'm so happy for you. The 2ww is gonna be hard now.... Send me whatever water you've been drinking lol Don't forget about us, and we want the doc's results and all your hgc numbers..... the hpt's are usually very accurate but the blood test will give you more info.
Not to change the subject but I have some really exciting news myself ( no I'm not bfp yet), I might be preforming at the Edmonton exhibition this summer.... as a "professional" belly dancer.... can you imagine, it's a dream come true if it happens, I dance with a troup now ( weddings and parties), but this big a venue is insane. I must be nuts... I need to lose 10+ pounds... and I'll be in the middle of a cycle if this 2ww doesn't pan out. Yep I'm insane....I suppose I should inform the old man.. And I've got to get this house cleaned up, I have company comming at lunch.
Baby dreams to us all, and an extra for Heather. Lynne.

Thanks ladies for the support.
Susan, I had a bfn last night too and that was my 13-dpo. I heard to test in the morning so try again tomorrow morning.
Lynne, I hear you have better water in Canada. I will not forget about you. I know I have been where you are.
That is really exciting news. Not sure it is a good time to lose weight but hopefully they accept pregnant belly dancers too.
Baby Dreams to everyone. And now we know it can be done with IUI and clomid and you can have no symptoms during the tww.
Take Care, Heather

Hey Heather,
I'm think if af doesn't come by Friday, I'll test again. I'm 13dpiui today. Thanks for the support.
How many mg of clomid did you take and on which days? Did you have iui 24 or 36 hrs?
I talked to my re yesterday and she states that she wants me to take 100mg of clomid d1-5 & then check on d11 to see how big my follicles are. If there big enough I take a hcg shot & do iui @ 36hrs. "This is, if af comes".
I bet you're feeling you want to stand on a mountain & yell your good news to the world. It's wonderful. It's good to hear sucess stories. It gives the rest of hope.
Baby dreams to all. Susan

Hi Heather, Susan, wannababy78, well I've got the house as clean as I care to make it, so to heck with what the company thinks. The weight loss for getting ready for the preformance is not as hard as it seems, just by putting in the extra practice time and ramping up my regular workouts, I've done it before. The specialist the I see has no problem with the increase in activity aslong as I slow down if I notice any real problems, like she said if it's gonna stick the shaking isn't going to hurt it. And yes pregnant belly dancers are welcome, it shows the range of body types welcome to participate. Two girl I know danced right up to delivery and Beth dances with Gwen in a sling since she delivered 9weeks ago. ( makes tribal bellydance seem more authentic.)
I am taking a break now, the cleaning got my body just going and gave me a headache, I hate these drugs and hormones we have to deal with. But maybe I'll be joining Heather in 2weeks and be done with it all. I will be able to use baby as a reason for being sick before preforming instead of nerves
Baby dreams to us all. Lynne.

Susan, I used 100 mg of Clomid on days 3-7 and I did the IUI 24 hours after a positive lh test.
I think I am currently still in shock and not believe it is real. I am also a bit scared to move and not rest etc and want to make sure it sticks.
The nurse said she thinks the doc wants you to come in at 9 weeks and I am thinking that is so far away to test things. I want to make sure it is all going well early with as difficult as it was to get pregnant.
You will be joining me Lynne I am sure in a couple of weeks. Sounds like this one went well.
Baby Dust all Around, Heather
