Hi there

I am a newbie to this site.

MY Hubbie and I have been trying to conceive since June 02 with no luck. I have endo and also after numerous tests found I don't ovulate. Was put on clomid to make me ovulate which worked, then on metformin and clomid, then metformin. My last doseage was Dec 05. I am now waiting to have IUI. Am a bit nervous etc as to what to expect and also feel slightly alone in the fact that none of my friends are going through the same. Would love to hear from you and get a little bit of advice/share the ups & downs.

Hi Sarah.. and welcome... most of us had to go through this alone... to not share with friends and family.. and that is why we all get such support here from each other....

I assume that you are ovulating now regularly.. that is why they are finally scheduling the IUI? The IUI is pretty painless... depending on the amount of drugs you take ahead of time.. you will most likely have similar symptoms to PMS... crampy, bloated, tired, irritable... and with the drugs that I was on.. my ovaries would swell and I would feel some uncomfort from that...

Other than the vaginal u/s they do to check your eggs.. and all the blood you have to have checked along the way... it isn't a very invasive proceedure.. and a good way to gauge how your body reacts to the meds.. before looking into trying other treatments (like IVF, etc.)

I know it is scary to go through it alone.. so use this message board as much as you'd like... it has helped so many of us through the scary and uncertain times.. Good Luck and lots of Baby dust to you!
