Hi, I am 25 yrs of age and I am going through my 2nd cycle of icsi (ivf). 1st time we only got 1 egg but it did fertilise but the embryo did not implant. This time we got 15 eggs, 9 were suitable and 6 fertilsed. I only had my transfer on Friday and I am finding it very hard waiting to find out what is going on. I would be greatful for anyone to tell me how long they waited and what there opion is. thanks

Hi Dawn
Congratulations on your transfer!
When doing an hpt, you have to remember a couple of things. One is, they are not all created equal. Some tests are more sensitive than others. Second, when doing an icsi cycle, you typicall do an hcg trigger shot prior to egg retrival. This can cause a false positive result as I have recently learned. I heard it should be out of your system within 10 days. I have heard of women getting a postive result as early as 8 days post transfer but I have also heard of women getting negatives on the day of the blood test only to find out they are indeed pregnant. So use them with caution and good luck...I am crossing my fingers for you!

Dawn, I started hpt'ing too early. I know the waiting makes you crazy. In Jan. I took one 11 days post transfer and it was neg. Imagine my surprise when the blood came back pos.! When you get the call for your blood I found it helpful to ask what your beta # is.Information is power!Good luck! cassandra
