Has anyone had a NURSE perform IUI?

I was so disappointed when I went in for my IUI today and a NURSE did the procedure.  The doctor was away at a conference and there was no other MD there today.

I've been through it 3 times before and it seems like an easy enough procedure, but still........

This process is frustrating enough without the thougths of "does she really know what she's doing?"  "How long has she been doing this?" and "Does she do them often enough to do them right every time, or does she only do them once every month or so and oops, forgot to draw up that air bubble again! (to make sure all 5 ml of sperm gets into the uterus without leaving any in the catheter)"

I really don't need this added stress.

I think #4 is it for this clinic.  If this one doesn't work, I'm getting a second opinion.

I have had a friend tell me her nurse did the IUI at her office.  Personally, my doc does everything and I love that.

Silli Kitti,
The nurses at my clinic always do the IUIs.  I wouldn't worry!  I think they know what they are doing.
