I just had my 20 week ultrasound and checkup last week and the US technician found that the umbilical cord only had one artery instead of two which could be nothing or it could mean that there is something wrong with the heart or kidneys. And if that's not scary enough they also found a mass in the back of the baby's head, which again could be nothing or it could be a sign of Downs Syndrome. The doctor suggest an amnio. and I'm terrified. Has anyone ever had an amnio?

Hi Donna,

When I was pregnant with my daughter, we had a blood test that came back with a high risk for Down's Syndrome. We had some genetic counselling and the counseller advised us to have an amnio. After hearing the risks associated with and amnio (although not much but are still there) we decided against it. We did not know if she was going to be ok until she was born. She was born early but perfect.....

It's a very hard decision for you to make. I hope and pray that things are ok for you, DH and bubs.
