Hi,
I am curently on day 7 of my 2ww, and it's driving me crazy!!!
Does anyone know if I'm likely to get a false positive if I take a HPT, I was on 50 Clomid and had IUI - I didn't take the hcg?  Is it the hormones from the hcg that causes the false positive or can Clomid do that too??  I am really new at this (first IUI - but ttc for 6 years), so any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

Hey, Nix!  As far as everything I've ever read (and I have read VOLUMES for over a year), nothing has HcG in it except for the following:
-- an HcG trigger shot from your doctor
-- the egg sac cells (the baby)
-- the placenta cells

So, you won't have anything else giving you a false positive when you take an HPT (home preg test).

Now, that being said, 7 days is too early to detect anything at all.  12-13 days past conception (which is the day after retreival) is the soonest you could possibly detect any HcG in your system.  Some say 11 days.  I've never heard any sooner than that.  Hold off 3 more days!

PS -- the 2WW is gruelling, and the midweek point is the low point, I think.  Just like the middle of any long race or task.  You look behind at something so long, then look ahead and think "I have to do that whole thing over again!!"    Hang in there!  Hopefully this is your last 2WW!

Hi FrisbeeGirl,

Thanks for the info!!  I am only planning to test on the 23rd - but my curiosity is getting the better of me and I am starting to get really impatient!!  I just want to know if it worked!  I am not going to test until 7/22 at the earliest - I'll keep you posted.
