HCG Levels

Hi! This is my first post to this site! I was so happy to have come across it. I am 37 years old and am 5 wks and 1day pregnant today. I have a son who is 8. I had 2 miscarriages b/f him and had a 3rd one back in September this year at 8 wks. After that 3rd miscarriage my doctor ran some blood tests and determined that I have antiphosphilipid syndrome and he thinks this may be why I've had 3 miscarriages. One week ago (at 4 wks) he started me on lovenox injections once daily, progesterone supplements twice daily, and 81 mg of aspirin once daily. My hcg level was checked at 4 wks and came back at 907. My hcg level was checked yesterday at 5 wks and came back at 13,000!!! These levels are high for my gestational age and I'm concerned about this. I was thrilled that my hcg level rose and didn't fall but now I'm concerned that these levels are abnormally high and indicative of another problem like a molar pregnancy or something. He wants me to come back in 1 week, at 6 wks and do another hcg level check and an ultrasound. Have any of you ever had unusually high hcg levels?

I was just wondering who told you those were high? In general your level should double about every 30 hours. If those were taken a week apart they might actually be low.  Usually doctors would do the draws tow days apart. High levels could also mean twins!!

It just happened that while i was reading your forum I was on the phone with my fertility patient cordiator she said that more then likely you have mulitples.  With the level that you are at.  Most of the time when she sees those levels that early you are having multiples.  And also waht was also said i have my levels done everyother day. Why are u only having yours once a week.
