Hi! I will be undergoing my first IVF egg retrival on November 28, 2006. My doctor is prescribing 20 units of Lupron (40 mcg) 2x aday. Has anyone else been on this med?

As with all drugs the side effects can range quite a bit patient to patient. That said in my case I have to say I had no issues with the Lupron. In fact not only did I not have side effects with any of my IVF stim drugs (Lupron and Bravelle) I actually felt really calm and almost peaceful while I was doing them. I know some chalk that up to the you are finially in a proactive phase and that does help but I have had other friends who have had similiar positive experiences with the stim drugs so go figure. I was much edgier once they stopped and I was on Progesterone. And I was a complete and total basket case when I took clomide so I have had reactiions just not to the stims. I hope your experience is a good one and best of luck on your IVF.

PS there is a thread on this ART board where there are many girls either in an active cycle or just completed one so you migt want to ask on that thread as well - title "Is anyone ready to start a new IVF cycle" Some of us have been on since this summer so it is a big group and you might get more feedback.
