Does every follicle have an egg?

Hello,

I will be going for my first IUI tomorrow after having been treated with Letrozole for ovulation. I have one follicle that was 23mm on Tuesday. My question is does every follicle contain an egg and if not what percentage of follicles contain eggs. Also is it more likely that bigger follicles have eggs?

Thank you in advance for any help,

Sarah

Each follicle contains an egg, but only about half the eggs a woman makes in her life time is capable of a successful pregnancy.
Good luck.
