I am soooo sorry ladies...
Meg: Would you look into International Adoption? If you do I have a few friends that went through Christian World Adoptions and they said the process was painless and uplifting.... I don;t know what state you live in by I know that adopting from California is tough but other states are easier. I wish you the best of luck. Start ordering your adoption pamphlets on line now from agencies, it will help your spirits reading adoption stories and it will get you back on your feet again. When my hubby and a=I gave up on fertility it helped me during our fertility break to continue my adoption research.
Keep us posted please....

Hi Daniella, Lindsay, & Lisa
I would love some advice from you all. As you know I did have a BFN back in October. I met with my doctor to discuss what happened and he said that there was no medical reason why it did not work. (I did egg donor and did not have any eggs to freeze)
I thought that I was going into the meeting and was going to be told that he cant do anything for me anymore and I should start the adoption process. Well that was not the case. He told me that if I wanted I can do the procees again. It is going to cost dearly.
He also said that I should start the adoption process as well as a safety net.
Any thoughts??? Your input would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks, Meg

Meg - I know you did not pose this question to me but I will say Go for it!!!...I did not think I would ever do a second IVF because of the cost and I thank God everyday that the DH said let's go for it or I would not be pregnant right now with a healthy little boy...I also would recommend (if you did not have it the other time) a 5 day blast transfer...I have looked and most places have higher success rates with the 5 day blasts...I will be praying for you and wish you best of luck in whichever journey you choose.

Best Wishes, Jenny

Meg, I am new to interacting with the boards, but not to reading them. I have been reading them for the past three years for inspiration. My husband and I have been TTTC for 6yrs. I have been on meds for three of those six.
My first fertility Dr. put me through the general schedule if three IUIs and then an IVF and then an FET. Then we were out of $!!
He wanted to keep going with treatments and said he didn't know why it was not working. I had a friend who was preg. and she went to a different Dr. in our town and said that he was considered "Better" than my Dr.
I went to meet with the new Dr. when we had saved enough for another IVF. He immediately scheduled an MRI to see what may be causing the infert. I knew I had Endometiosis, but he found Adenomyosis as well. He said without treatment, I was not likely to get pregnant. I went on huge amounts of Lupron for 6 months and then had another MRI. The medicine worked!! I am now waiting for my test after IVF. It it tomorrow, Thursday and I am nervous, but at least I know why things were not working before.
My first Dr. never checked on anything just started me on meds. and stole my $$. The second Dr. was really interested in diagnosis and then treatment.
I am not sure of your circumstances, but my suggestions to anyone would to be, to find a Dr. that will do all the tests and rule everything out before starting again or for the first time.
Thanks for all of your posts. They have helped me and my husband more than you know!
I will be praying for you! Kathy

Lisa -
I most likely will go for it but it is so nerve racking!!! I do not want to always wonder - what if i did it again!
On the flip side the dissapointment is unbearable. But I lived through it this time and I have alot of support from my DH and my family and friends so that helps.
Thanks, Meg

Hi Meg
I also had a failed IVF cycle in March. We had planned to do an IUI with Bravelle, but I overresponded and was told I had to switch to IVF or cancel my cycle. Because we have to pay for meds and all procedures, we decided to switch although it was never our intention. As you described, everyone assumed I would get pregnant bc everything looked good. We even transferred 3 day 3 embryos. I received a negative result and was extremely upset.
We then focused on international adoption for a few months until I got distracted with acupuncture. I decided to give it 6 months. In the past, I had problems with my progesterone/estrogen levels. I would ovulate, but my levels always seemed to be off. After 3 months, I saw improvement and was very happy. My levels had normalized, and I felt better. The problem is that my husband has an extremely low sperm count. So we still had no real chance of getting pregnant.
Luckily at that time, one of the girls at my clinic mentioned there was a free IVF study if I was interested in applying. It was scary not knowing what drugs I was receiving, but it was actually a pleasant experience since they were testing a one time injection rather than the daily injections. And that is how I ended up pregnant, plus I have 7 embryos in storage.
Would I have done it without hearing about this study? I don't know. Probably. If there are no immense obstacles, I would give it another try. I also highly recommend the acupuncture. I had treatments all the way through my IVF and felt it made a real difference in my situation.
Good luck-I think it is worth considering another try. This is coming from someone who still has the money we borrowed for adoption sitting in the bank!
Hang in there. I still cringe when I think back to March... Lindsay
