Hi everyone,

I'm going crazy in the 2ww, I've pretty much resigned myself to the fact that this 3rd IVF didn't work, it's been very upsetting  but I've come up  with a plan for the next one...now I wake up this morning and take another HPT and d@amn if there isn't an extremely light 2nd line...in the afternoon I took my temp and it was 98.9. What does all this mean is it false hope? If it is positive is it just going to be another chemical (IVF#2)?

Did any of you have to wait so long to get a faint line and then have a successful pregnancy? I know I'm grasping at straws but that's with IVFrs have to do to keep sane.

Thanks so much for your time.

hi..i just read your post and was wondering how many days after your embryo tranfer was it (and was it day 3 or day 5 (blast) transfer).  I had a day 5 transfer, 5 days ago ..last wednesday..and just took a pregnancy test (even though they say hormones dont show up tillk 10 days later)..anyway..i just got a very faint line as well. after only 5 days after transfer...and was wondering the same thing as you.

My first ivf resulted in a chemical pregnancy as well and I am therefore extremely pesimistic and  feel the same was as you.  i will take another test tommorow and see if the line gets darker if it does then this is a good sign..as far as your situation ..was it a fresh cycle or frozen .?

Imy second ivf attempt resulted in beautiful daughter emma...she was 1 out of 6 frozen embryos transfered on day 3.

I am now on my third ivf and hope that this is not afalse positive because its only been 5 days!!!!

I will prey for you and hope that it is a viable and healthy pregnancy for you..it sounds as though youve been ttc for a while now snf i haver a good feeling about your faint line!!!!!!!

all the best

Hi Keren,

Thanks for your response, I am excited for you, to get a faint line this early is really amazing, time to relax and let him/her glom on, your a lucky girl.
I had a 3 day transfer and when I took the HPT  this morning it was 9 days post transfer, a fairly long time for just a faint line. Maybe it's a late implanter who knows but it's really sending me on a head trip.
Tomorrow is the big day, that's my 2nd blood test and I'm so hoping there's going to be good news but scared to wish for it b/c it's such a long fall...

patsy:
i can't believe that you're already taking your 2nd blood test how many days after your transfer did they give you your first (only 7???) and what where the beta levels? (most Re's wait a minimum of 10-12 days post transfer)..especially after only day 3.

im not sure if you already know this..but ill share it with you anyway.  it takes atleast 3 to 4 days after your transfer for the embryo to implant maybe even more. the embryo was in your uterus for 2 days (till blastocyst stage day 5) and then it attempts to implant...it cannot implant untill a minimum of day 5 and after day 5 it can take 2 to 3 days for implantation to actually occur..so the fact that you have a faint line..i think is very encouraging...(depending on your hcg levels ofcourse) when i got pregnant with my daughter on my second ivf cycle my beta levels where only 52 and that was 10 days after the day 3 tramnsfer..and when i went back 2 days later (12 days post transfer) they had doubled.  I hope that it will be the same with you...please keep me posted!@!!!!!
if youre still up write me back ..im dying to know what your levels where after only 7 days post transfer?

Hi Karen,

Sorry I haven't written back, I forgot about this board, doi.
Well, here's my numbers in order:

8dpt  8.62
10dpt 24.9
12dpt 56
16dpt 291

I go in tomorrow for a 20dpt beta and am nervous but feel like it may go well. I always feel like I have a hangover and am guessing this is a pregnancy sign. Other than that not much else symptom wise....maybe my bbs are a little sore but not much. Hoping my little guy is still hanging on. I've been eating very healthy and drinking more water.
How are you doing?

Keren, I started hpting on the 11th day post transfer...it was a very faint positive, so were the next couple of days. On the night before(last night) it was very bright. Do you take your temp every day? That would make me crazy wondering if a few dgrees were affecting the implantation. Were you advised to? Just wondering....casandra

Good luck with your test patsy.  It is so nerve wracking waiting for those results.

Hi girls,

Well, I've had a couple more betas done 20dpt 1,500 24dpt 5181, so far so good, I'm still holding my breath.
Now I'm scared b/c the doubling time has gone from 40hrs to 53hrs, the dr. didn't seem  conserned though so I'm going to try to remember that and not obsess.

As far as my temp taking? That I decided on my own, my doc thinks I'm too obsessive I'm sure, I wouldn't even tell her that one!

Patsy, it's good to hear your numbers are increasing! If the dr. isn't worried than try to take it easy. Stop taking your tempeture if you don't have to girl! Obsessing is understandable but our temps. rise and fall throughout the day. When is your U/S? keep in touch...cassandra
