Hey ladies -

Ok Friday night we told my family. My sister of course was upset I did not tell her all along what was going on. My parents were very happy for us. My mom was shocked she did not expect that sort of news. Everyone that I tell usually thinks I am joking. triplets???? No, c'mon, three????

So, its a trip. I do still have morning sickness. Its round the clock, unless I am sleeping. Then when I have to poddy, its there.

I just generally dont feel well, but I am happy. I am pregnant and this is part of it, I just hope it eases up!

Lisa - I have not done any cleaning either, I have not felt like moving. When I get home from work I am in the bed. Less movement the better. I am addicted to crackers and ginger ale, which dont seem to help at all.

FET Ladies - Fingers and toes crossed for you three! I can not wait to follow your cycles and hear your news.

Lisa - Definitely too early for nesting - but with two on the way, I am sure there is a lot you feel needs taken care of as you will not have much time afterwards! Do it now before you get super heavy and uncomfortable!

JenFrancis - My family would also think I was kiddin if I said I was having triplets since I am never serous.. ha ha ha.. I feel your pain with the morning sickness. I had it round the clock until 23 weeks! argh. Can't imagine what it would have been like with triplets! Your attitude is great though!

Julie, yeah I figured it was too early for nesting. However I have always been a neat freak anyway. I would like to be able to work on the nursery this summer and paint my mural etc. before I get to lazy.

Awww Jen, hang in there. Try those sea bands...maybe they will help? I was only sick that very first week. I almost feel guilty when I hear any of you saying you have bad m/s.

I have been addicted to Parmesan Goldfish crackers for the past 3 months. I literally buy 4 bags a week. I maybe go through 2 or 2.5 but they are so yummy. Gotta have back ups in case. Don't know why I told you guys that, Dh thinks it is funny because I am stingy about sharing them. :)

Ronda, Reshma, Debbie...do you guys have any symptoms other than that belly growing and possible flutters?
They say it could happen as early as week 14 and as late as week 18. hope you girls are doing well.

Marina, are you back?

Lyly, how are you doing? That will be cool if you and Marina and Beth are all cycling together. :)

Lisa - That is too funny with your goldfish cravings. One thing I like a lot is peanut butter. I especially like peanut butter sanwiches... ha ha ha... I also craved pink lemonade for the longest time and spicy food - like salsa and nachos...

Lisa,

I am still having some m/s and some nasty headaches. Still really tired alot. Belly is getting big already and haven't felt any flutters I can nail down to the baby yet.....keep thinking its just my insides shifting.

I hate having to ask for help, but there are many things I used to do, that now I cannot (carrying feed bags, hay, my dd) Its very frustrating!

Go to doc on Thurday and am hoping for u/s. If not at least he will find the heartbeat with the doppler thingy.

Ronda - I hate asking for help too. Samantha is 32 pounds so I no longer can pick her up since the doc says you can't pick more than 20 pounds up and after my bleeding - I should stick to 5 -10 pounds. Everytime Samantha has a temper tantrum I have to look at hubby and say "Just pick her up and put her in her room." I normally would have had to do it - but I am a cripple for the next 14 weeks (sigh)

Lisa - no other symptoms yet...the other night i thought i felt something that maybe was the baby moving but i'm not sure...it felt like a light pop...like a bubble bursting...didnt feel like my usual gas rumblings etc so i dont know...

I have some exciting news though...dh and i went to the pharmacy lst night...i was feeling for ice cream and they have a Haagen Daas Freezer :) so anyway, as i was walking through the aisles looking for nuts (to put on the ice cream - dh was going to make me a sundae) i thought to myself, i wonder if they have any fetal monitors and i swear as i finished the thought there it was right in front of me!!! Needless to say, i insisted we buy it. :) it was expensive but i didnt care... the box said you would usually hear the heartbeat from around week 21-28 but i wanted to try it anyway. So i tried it this morning and although i didnt hear the heartbeat, i heard a few solid thumps and some rapid softer ones ...the first being kicks and the latter most likely hiccups!!!! it was so amazing!!!

I tell you girls i strongly recommend getting one of these if only to ease the anxiety between OB visits and ultrasounds. The one i got even allows you to hook it up tp your computer and record the sounds...it is so totally cool!

This has put me in such a good mood today!

I hope you all have a wonderful day and week!

Reshma -

Wow !!! How wonderful! I bet that made you cry!

I dont know if this will help me, as there are three in there and I dont know if I could differentiate between my heartbeat or the other three.
(I HAVE FOUR HEARTS BEATING INSIDE ME!!!)

I would not know what each sound would be.

But that sounds like fun. I think they will be monitoring me and I will have frequent visits to the doctor, so probably no need.

Enjoy that and I hope all you have good weeks ahead!

Jules614 - May 19

Reshma -

If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost?

Julie

RB - May 19

Jen, I didnt cry, i was too busy grinning from ear to ear ;D And it didnt pick up my heartbeat at all...you place it on your tummy so you may hear gurgling noises which might be gas and stuff and if you are small, you might hear the heartbeat earlier than the 21-28 weeks. I have some belly fat so i may have to wait but those thumps are music to my ears.

Jules, it was about $50.00 with taxes (btw, that's $320 in my currency).

Thanks Reeshma -

I looked online by ebay and I can get them for about $80. I may consider it.

Jules,

The one i got is available from the babycenter store for $22.45 Its the Summer Infant Heart to Heart Prenatal Listening System but the reviews were not so good. So check around and see what gives you the best value for money. I am satisfied with mine so far...we'll see if i am able to hear more as the weeks go by.

Reshma -

I got one from Motherhood for about $25 and it was awful. It never worked.

I think you need the one that costs a lot more money for results.

I agree with needing an expensive monitor. I purchased one when I was pregnant with dd and it made me nuts. I was so afraid there was always something wrong because I could never really Identify the sounds.

Lisa- The only thing I have been experiencing is what I believe to be the baby's movements. I really love it but I wish it was more of a definite feeling. I don't feel them often so I am always trying to determine if what I am feeling is accurate. I just want to feel a few good kicks.

Lyly- HOw are you doing. Anything new yet?

lyly14 - May 19

Debbie- I am doing okay. This new clinic is driving me nuts. My old place was small and the office staff were great. I am dealing with the nurses at this new place and finding it difficult to get return phone calls from the nurse who is in charge of my FET. It is funny that everyone else returns my calls only to say I need to speak to my nurse and she doesn't call me back. It is a bit frustrating. She ordered dh to repeat bloodwork that he already had and we are paying out of pocket for his bloodwork and it is not cheap. One of his screenings for the ivf with my other doctor came up positive for hepatitis b (which indicates he had it at some point or was vaccinated for it). She said he needs to repeat it but then wrote the script for hep a hep b and hep c. He doesn't need them all redone the rest were all negative! And since he doesn't actively have hep b I really don't see the need to repeat that one either. They are really expensive tests and he is pissed that we already paid $1000 for all his bloodwork and doesn't want to pay again when he was told by my last RE that it is just an idicator he had it in the past. It will always be positive so why repeat it and pay to get the same result. This whole process is stressful enough I don't need more stress.
