My IUI's were $200 each which wasn't too bad. We did 4. Luckily my insurance paid for all of my ultrasounds, bloodwork and my meds. That was huge.

I really feel pregnant today. My stomach is absolutely starting to protrude. I got some cute tops from Kohl's yesterday along with my Granny Panties. I am glad the style now is those baby doll tops because there are tons to choose from.

Hope everyone is doing well. :)

wow Jen, you spent a lot too. A small price to pay for such a gift if everything works out the way we would like it to. I was actually calling a week prior to my first beta to find out our refund amount as we were going to get 70% of our money back. That is how sure I was that things were going to work out. I guess I was just fed up at that point.

Will your bloodtest on Friday be your second one?

They did 3 on me...One on a Mon. then a Wed. and then the following Wed. after that they started with a week 7 u/s.

Yeah, Lisa -
My second test a whole week later! Not sure why!
I have been having this strange not painful crampy feeling sort of stretching.
Then when i cough it feels sharp. I hope I did not loosen the baby(s) while coughing or sneezing!

I am confused about the bloodwork. Well, long as it went up, I dont care! I hate those needles!

Jen, lol, I felt the same way. After they did the embryo transfer, I was afraid when I peed that they would fall out. I am sure your numbers will be up on Friday. :) I too remember that crampy feeling. I still get it sometimes now but I guess it is a good thing the further along you get as it is stretching of the uterus. Where do you work?

jenfrancis - April 30

I work for a construction company in virginia.
I sit on my butt all day.
But I guess I never remember feeling that crampy stuff with my daughter.

vw79girl - April 30

Jen, some days I feel it on my right and sometimes on my left. When they do the u/s, usually one is on the left and the other the right so perhaps it is them moving and stretching in there so the uterus can adjust.
That is good that you can sit all day. I teach art in a hs in NH so I can sit the greater part of the day. I walk around a lot and help the students and sit with them/sit at my desk when I need a rest.
How old is your daughter?

lyly14 - April 30

Jenfrancis- When I was pg the first time I swore I was getting my period. I kept feeling crampy like I was about to get it and it never came. Thats when I made a comment to my mother that I kept feeling like I was getting it and she turned around and said "thats how I felt when I was pg with you sister". I ran out bought a test and sure enough it was positive. It is very common, but it doesn't always happen.

vw79girl - April 30

and how is Lyly today? :)

I am doing good thanks! Only 12 more days until my appointment with the new RE. I am thinking I should go and get my file from my old RE. I was holding off because I was sure my RE would come through first since May 12th seemed so far away but now I am thinking not.

My Daughter is 14. I am 33.
I guess its doubt setting in, anxiety since I go again Friday. Well, I will relax. And since the cold is leaving, i wont be coughing so much.
Well, I am just paranoid that I am too happy right now. :) If thats possible! I am so happy. Sometimes I feel like something will go wrong just to bring me back to earth.

Hi Ladies,

I just got back from my genetic counseling session. Lyly was right they do make a family tree and based on that determine what your risk factors are. We did not have any risk factors other than my age. Not that I think 37 is fatal anyway. So we decided to do 1st trimester screening and the nucal translucency. Baby looked great. It was so fun to see his/her hands waving about and legs everywhere. I will have the results in about 3-5 days. If it comes back that we are at high risk, then we may go with the amnio. Counselor said the risk of m/c is less than 1 percent. Hope we do not even have to go that route. I understand what you mean Lyly about taking care of a sick/ disabled child. I don't know if I could do it and not for selfish reasons. I do not want someone to live in constant pain or misery and I also have 2 healthy children that would suffer. Tough decision because espescially after the great pics today and the moving about I think it finally hit me how much I love this baby already.

vw79girl - April 30

Debbie, So for the Nucal, they did the ultrasound on you today? What else is involved with first trimester screening? I am hoping to have that next week or the week after. I will find out more tomorrow when I come for my ultrasound. Isn't the waving and moving awesome? We were in awe a week and a half ago when we experienced that. I hate that these tests are not 100%. I think we are still going with the Nucal only and not the amnio.

Hang in there Jen...Friday will be here before you know it! baby dust to you!!! :)

Reshma and Ronda~ are you having any lower back pain?

lyly14 - April 30

Lisa- If they tell you that that the nucal scan is abnormal are you going to do an amnio or are set against it no matter what? Just curious because they use the nucal to determine only if you need more testing. It is only a screening, it can't determine if there are any syndromes just from the scan. I have heard from many women that it indicated they needed an amnio then the amnio turned out normal, so all it did was stress them out for a few weeks.

Debbie- I am happy to hear that your appt went well. I totally understand what you are saying about all that being a tough decision. I was absolutely devestated when I had the last miscarriage, so it would be so difficult to find myself pg and then find out something was wrong. But I couldn't agree with you more about it being hard on your other children and not to mention unfair if a baby were to have a life long disability. I work with special ed children as well as so called regular ed and I see what some of these disabled children go through. It is not an easy life for them. I would hate to see a child of mine suffer. I hope all your screenings come back good and you don't need even need to get the amnio. Not to mention have to be in that difficult position.

Hi Girls,

its been a while since i posted...my internet was down... >:(

I see you girls have been very busy on this board!! Let's see if i can catch up....this might be a looong post ;D

First of all....Congrats Jen!!! I hope you get your twins!!! Hang in there...if it' one thing i am learning from this entire experience, it's how to wait...you are always waiting for one thing or another...blood test results, for your next OB appt, to have an u/s, to hear the heartbeat, to see your baby bump, to feel your baby move etc etc...As for the cramping and sharp pains, i had those too..i guess it all goes with the territory! :)

Ronda and Lisa - i have not gained any weight yet but my belly is expanding!!! I've already bought some new bras cuz my regular ones were not so comfortable anymore and Lisa i totally get you with needing new panties...i wish i could just not wear any at all!!!! ;D I am a little concerned about the weight as i wonder if the baby is growing as he/she should...i have my next appointment on Tuesday so i hope everything is ok.

I havent had any backpains yet but i do actually feel like my belly is stretching and sometimes i feel a slight pressure on my muscles lower down...as for the dreams...i dont remember them when i wake up!!! but i know i had a dream because its like a vague memory that i cant quite put together...oh well...no x rated dreams that i can share and my sex life is totally PG these days. ::)

Lyly...so sorry to hear about the kidney stones...like you really needed that on top of everything else! I hope May 12th gets here quickly so you can have your appt.

Marina...hopefully, you'll be having those sexy dreams again pretty soon ;D

Debbie, what does the Nucal test for and what do the other screening tests involve?

Jules, i'm sorry to hear that you are still bleeding...shouldnt you be on bedrest for that?

Finally...has anypone seen Baby Mama yet? It looks really funny and i'm thinking of going to see it this weekend.

Take care girls,

I missed you all these past few days!

Hi Girls,

I need your help with something. A friend of mine runs a counselling centre for cancer patients. She has a 26 yr old law student who has cancer and needs to start chemo but is afraid that she will become sterile and wants to have her egss harvested and frozen so she can have a baby later on. My clinic doesnt do this and i wondered if any of you could find out if your clinic could do it and what would be the cost etc. If you could send me a contact name and email address at your clinic i can always follow up with them directly.

Thanks,
Reshma
