I am now 16 weeks :) I go today to see if it is a boy or girl. I am happy either way I will come back to see how you are doing take care

Hi Ange- I am so happy to hear from you. I think about you, Jade, and amyjoy often. I wonder how all of you are doing. Have you heard from either of them? Wow! 16 weeks, how exciting. Are you feeling any movement yet? I am on day 4 of stims. My retreival should be around 1/25 and we are doing a 3 day transfer. So not much longer now. Let me know how your u/s went. Hope to hear from you soon.

Marina- I will probably have to have my mom do the progesterone shots for me. The little needles aren't bad but the long ones scare the crap out of me even just mixing the repronex with it. She is a nurse but doesn't work anymore because of her illness. Her hands shake a bit , but she I trust her. She did the shots for me when I was freaking out so it should be fine.

Lyly,I don't know if you ever got to do progesteron shots, but if your mom is a nurse, she knows exactly how to give them. When we saw the needle,my husband was terrified to stick them in me(I don't have a lot of room on my tush-ha-ha!),so we asked if we can use a smaller needle(like 1in instead 1.5),because he was afraid he can pock my bone with it and they said yes.But that was the worst decision, because there is a reason for that long needle-the solution has to be deep in the musle, otherwise you'll get painful bumps, which I did of course,so we went back to big needles and I didn't have a problem since. In fact,it's not that bad, like everybody imagine. The bottom line is result, right?

Marina- How true. My stomach is so bruised and bloody from all the shots but if it works it will all be worth it. My estrogen is increasing slowly so they increased my gonal-f dosage tonight, decreased my lupron and kept the same dosage of repronex. I have to go in for u/s and b/w tomorrow morning. Hopefully my E2 will go up more. If I remember correctly it was slow to rise in the beginning when I just did the gonal over the summer, but then all of a sudden doubled in one day. They had to reduce my dosage and coast me for a while to get my E2 to drop a bit before I could take my trigger. I guess everyone's body responds differently.

lyly14 - January 20

Hi girls how is everyone's weekend? I am so aggrevated today and not feeling well either. I went to the lab for b/w this morning for an E2. It was suppossed to be done as a stat so they would have the results by 3pm and give me my dosage for meds tonight. I told the woman 2 times that it was a stat and she needed to call for a pickup plus the paperwork had a bright pink sticker that said "Time sensitve Stat" on it and she put it in the pile with everyone elses. When I questioned her she said "oh I didn't know that, I will do my best , but it is really busy so if I can I will" I told her that they absolutely needed the results today and that is why I told her when I walked in to call it in, but she was just like "if I get to it". Well needless to say my doctor didn't get my results so he had me waiting till now to get my instructions. He has no choice but to tell me to take the same dosage as yesterday. I am so angry that I drove 25 minutes to get bloodwork for nothing. What a waste of gas miles and a copay. Not too mention the woman talked about what was going on with me in front of all the patients. I am calling the main office for the lab on Monday and complaining and I refuse to pay my copay for the bloodwork. Today was a complete waste. I could have slept in and not wasted my money since I have to go tomorrow and they will have tomorrow's results before todays. Anyway enough venting. I am so bloated and feeling sick to my stomach. My jeans didn't even fit today. They felt tight when I put them on but had to open them by the end of the day. I had the bloating on the clomid and gonal before, but I don't remember feeling sick. What about either of you?

Marina - January 20

Hi lyly,
I'm sorry for your frustration with people in your office,I never had this kind of problem, they always called me back in a couple hours, even if I didn't need to change anything just to confirm. But we paid everything out of pocket, sometimes it was very confusing with all the bills-they send them from different clinics and it's very hard to keep track on what the hell they are charging us for...But with all the testing they always where quik to respond. But If I was you,I'd definately do something about it.
Bloating is normal,I had this problem too, trry to drink more water.I'm not a big drinking water fan,and have to make myself drink, but still can't do more than 2 bottles a day.
We didn't hear from Julie for a long time,
Julie,is everything ok?It seens like after this site was down, many people just dissapear...

lyly14 - January 20

Marina- I remember feeling really bloated last time I did the gonal- f but didn't remember feeling sick to my stomach. I felt like I was going to throw up before , but I am feeling better now. As far as the problem I had today. It wasn't my office, my RE called me the usual time between 3-4pm but said the lab didn't have the results and wanted to double check to make sure I went for the bloodwork. They are very good about calling with results and instructions. I don't use a clinic. It is a private practice so everything is done seperately. My RE only does consults, IUI's and u/s monitoring in his office. He sends you out to whatever lab you want to use for bloodwork and the actual IVF procedures (ER and transfer) are done at the hospital. I go to the same place for bloodwork all the time and the dr never has a problem getting my results the same day by 3pm. The woman who usually take my blood doesn't work on Sat so it is the other woman who doesn't know what she is doing. When I walking in she said "nothing yet?" in front of everyone. Then started to talk about how the other girls who usually come must be prego by now b/c she hasn't seen them in a while. Well is wasn't very hard for the rest of the people waiting to get blood work done to figure out what was going on with me. Talk about unprofessional. Then she doesn't even send out my bloodwork to get done for today. I am so angry it is not even funny. There better not be any problems with this cycle of IVF because she couldn't take 2 minutes to make a phone call to have the blood picked up for processing. The RE is concerned the way my body reacts by my E2 zooming high after starting out slow, so he wants daily levels to adjust the dose. If my levels get too high too quick and I get cancelled so I don't get OHSS I know who to blame!!!!!!

Julie- Hope all is well with you. We are thinking about you.

Ange - January 21

Hi Lyly~ Wow the 25th that is great. I drank gatorade right from the start of stims and lots of water I think 6 bottles a day. It help not to get over stimmed. I would really get pissed off about your blood tests it is not like you want to come back again in three months to try again because of their mistake. I hope your e2 levels are ok. what amount of gonal-f are you on? I was on 375ml then they dropped it down to 300.
As for me we couldn't see the sex of the baby but we saw and heard the heartbeat and the baby measured at 17 weeks 3 days so it is a big baby. Because of IVF I know my conception date. We are just so happy the baby is doing good. As for Jade I do speak to her on emails very often she is doing good. She is pregnant with twins and is on bed rest. But she is doing great as for amy joy I haven't heard from her.

take care I be back to check in again soon

lyly14 - January 21

Ange- I was so angry yesterday it wasn't funny. My RE got the results from yesterday today along with todays numbers. He said everything looked good. I go back for more b/w and an u/s tomorrow. I started my stims with 225 gonal-f 37.5 Repronex and 10 units of lupron for 3 days, then 262.5 gonal 75 Repronex 5 units of lupron for one day , then upped the gonal again to 300 with the others staying the same. I have been on that dose for 3 nights now. I will know more tomorrow when I go in for my b/w yet again and u/s. Enough about me.

I am glad to hear the baby is doing good. They couldn't see the sex of my daughter either at that time and by the time she moved her legs to get a peak I changed my mind and didn't want to know. I figured I went so long already without knowing it didn't make much of a difference. As far as the size of the baby they told me mine was already 8 lbs at 36 weeks and she was going to be big. Well 4 weeks later she came out 6lbs 11 oz (tiny little peanut). So you just never know. As long as they are healthy we are happy. I am glad to hear jade is doing well besides the bed rest. How far along is she? Does she know what the sexes are? Please let her know I am thinking about her and wish her the best. Talk to you soon.

Marina - January 21

Hey,Lyly
You probably feel better by now, thanks God! I'm surprised,in my clinic they have their own lab and do all the tests and b/w right there,so they get results right away.Ya,that women in your lab just a b.....,why would you be there if you were Pg!?how nice of her to ask...

lyly14 - January 21

She is definitely a b@#$. and insensitive. For all she knows I could have been pg and had a miscarriage since the last time I saw her (which was August). She has no people skills what so ever. At least it turned out okay, but I a still going to complain about her and refuse to pay my copay. I can't wait to go to the lab tomorrow when the regular woman is there and tell her what happened!

lyly14 - January 22

Ok so I complained to the lab about Saturday. They said the results were faxed over to the dr. office that afternoon. Great, the dr. insn't in the office on sat afternoon. Normally he gets the results from the online results website for doctors. So that is why he didn't get them. The woman I spoke said it wasn't the labs fault, but she would take care of the woman who drew my blood and that she was going to be written up. Whatever good that does.

Ange - January 23

Lyly Are you doing the gonal-f pens? We would buy 300 pens and that would be enough for one dose becasue the pen give you 375 per pen but that is not all I would save my pens and after 5 days I would have enough for another dose because you can get a gonal-f needle from the pharmacy and suck out 75 out of each pen so in the end you can get450 out of each pen what a saving that was. I am glad your levels are good how many follies do you have so far?

Jade is having a boy and a girl. She was lucky enough to find out. I will let her know you are thinking of her for sure. I am okay with not knowing yet my dh keeps saying it is a girl and I say it is a boy it is fun.

Hi Ange- Lucky for me my insurance pays for the meds. I paid $15 for 2 gonal-f 900 pens and another $15 for a 450 pen. The pens are multi-dose. I have already finished 2 900 pens and 1 450 pen. I just got 2 more 900's although I probably wont finish both pens. I didn't know they came in a 300 pen. So far I have at least 8 follies on the left. He had trouble seeing the right ovary yesterday, but saw at least 2 nice size follies. It wasn't my regular RE (his partner) and he seems to have trouble seeing my right side for some reason. My regular guy will be in tomorrow, so I will see about how many I have then. I know I have at least 10 follies, probably more, so hopefully they all continue to grow. My estrogen shot up yesterday, so they lowered my gonal-f dosage from 300 to 225 again. I have been going everyday since last wednesday for b/w. It's crazy, but hopefully all worth it.

That is nice that Jade is having one of each. I don't remember, does she have any other children? When I was pg with my dd I was sure it was a boy, but my ex was sure it was a red headed girl. I didn't even have a girls name picked out. My poor baby was nameless for about a day and a half. Well he was right... about both! Talk to you soon. Keep me posted on how you and Jade are doing. I am so excited for both.

Hey guys - sorry I have been missing. I have been in the hospital due to a virus and dehydration. Lot's of IV's and meds. Still have diarhea which is not fun.

Lyly - There is nothing wrong with anxiety! I had it sooooo bad during my IVF process - I never slept. So much going through my head and the waiting was even worse! You are not alone and we are hear whenever you need to talk. Yes, I used the repronex and hubby did all the mixing - he screwed it up the first time too and I had to use a new bottle. Lyly - your lab seems like they need to get their act together when giving you your results and instructions. Plus the staff seems like they need an attitude adjustment. Like you, I was VERY bloated during the IVF process. I felt like I was pregnant when I wasn't.

Marina - I will be curious to see how accurate the gender test is. I feel in my heart I am having another girl just by how I feel, the statistics and the baby's heart rate. I could be wrong - but I don't think I am. are you using a different size needle to mix than when you give yourself the shot? Sorry you didn't hear from me - I used to get e-mails when people posted but it doesn't look like that is the case.. so I fell behind.

Ange - I am sorry you weren't able to see the sex. Will you get another chance? My daughter crossed her legs the day of my u/s - the tech said based on the way she was shaped, she was 90% sure it was a girl but couldn't guarantee me. The day I delivered, hubby shouted out - does she have a vagina, because we planned for a girl - nursery purple and clothes bought were girly.

Julie
