Hello - My name is Lisa and I am 33 years old. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for 3 years. We conceived naturally after one year of trying. We lost the baby at 8 weeks after we saw a heartbeat - devestating. Then after another year of trying we sought out an infertility doctor. We did two rounds of IUI on CLOMID (helped with my ovulation) and got pregnant on the second try. However I miscarried that baby as well at about 8 weeks - a blighted ovum. My doctor thought it might just be bad luck so we did another round of IUI and once again got pregnant on the second try. We saw a heartbeat at about 5 weeks and were so HAPPY, then at our next ultrasound no heartbeat and another miscarriage and another D&C.

All the tests have come back negative - nothing wrong with us.........Now we are on to IVF so that we can do PGD (test our fertilized eggs for chromosonal disorders and then transfer only the good eggs back into my uuterus). Well it is a bad day for me because (1) I had a complication during the egg retrieval with the anestheshia and had to stay in the hospital overnight and I still feel like shit as fluid is still in my lungs and (2) it is Day 3 and we should have 8 cell blastocytes and they are only 6 cells so we have to hold off on the PGD and the doctor does not know if they will get to the 8 cells. It is so hard to wait....

I just can't believe this is happening to us and it is so hard to stay positive. All my friends have multiple kids and just don't understand. I don't know what to do. I just think what did I do so bad in my life to deserve this.

Thanks for listening

morsecooper,

I am so sorry for your loss and as well what you are going through right with your own health ???. I totally understand what you mean when you wonder WHY ME! why is it so hard for some women to have a baby, I have had a total of 11 m/cs the last being August of this year. I have done alot of research and I have found alot of information but the 1 most important thing that stands out is LOW PROGESTERONE! have you had your progesterone checked? A Dr named John Lee says that if a women has had 3 or more miscarriages she probably has low progesterone, I am now waiting to get my cycle to have my progesterone checked and to also have a biopsy done.

As hard as it may be for us I still stick by the saying "EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON" sometimes we don't understand why things don't happen when we want them to, but I believe they will happen in due time, I just pray and believe things will work out for myself as well as the other ladies that are so supportive here.

Don't give up and we are always here for you when you need to talk or need a shoulder to lean on.or just to vent :). Take care and God bless....Tiffany

PS: I'm sorry I don't no much about IUI"S or IVF I have never had to have those procedures done, but there will be other ladies here that will share with you and give you good information...your at the right place ;)

Thanks so much Tiffany for taking the time to write me back - it really means a lot to me. I am also so sorry for your loss as well - 11 miscarriages - I can't imagine how painful. I am seeing a really great doctor (Dr. Foulk in Reno NV) and on the IUI's and the IVF I have been using progesterone suppositories and or injections of progesterone oil - I really do believe he is doing everything medically possible an have complete trust in his capabilities as a doctor...the hard part is the waiting. Thanks again and good luck to you. I will try to keep the hope up.

hi more scooper,
I hear your cry, it is nothing you did wrong, sometimes we wonder why some of us go through challenges, but that answer in left to God to answer, I am going thru IVF this is my 2nd try and could not get a positive result on any, mine result came in actually today, today is my BD and see what present I got for it. I am very sad at this time but I want to cheer you up. its hard when such things happen but someday there will be a miracle so you can also encourage someone who has been in your shoes. All the best and baby dust....grace
