Should I take a test?

I am 9 days in on the 2ww and I was wondering if I should take a preg test or not? Has anyone else ever taken one while in waiting? I also haven't had a booster shot in 5 days.

I would be hesitant to take a test at 9do. Normally it is between 8-10 days that the fertilized egg will implant.
I had tested at 10dpo and did get a postive, howeve I was preg with twins and my hcg was quite high due to the fact it was a multiples. My nurse had told me that it takes up to 7 days for the hcg shot to be out of your system.

Good luck

Hi, I thought about testing myself at home, but decided to wait until the appointment. I think having blood drawn will give you an answer of 100%, rather than taking a chance with an at home test. Maybe, for myself I am just afraid of a negative....

I guess I'm wierd. I would rather see my negative before hand than to receive that phone call from the Dr. office with the nurse sounding so sympathetic telling me she's sorry, but it's negative and when do I want to schedule my next appointmen?. I would just rather know before hand. It's easier for me that way. I don't have to pretend not to be upset.

Never thought of it that way, but since it's my 1st round of IUI's, shots, progestrone and whatever else I have to take..I guess its better to know ahead that its negative. I guess I'm feeling kind of flip flop...Maybe if I get past this and it comes back negative, next round I might feel different. I'M SO CONFUSED.......

I don't think that your weird. For someone like me who had never gone through IUI's, shots, progestrone, chlomid and whatever else I have to take.Hearing it from someone at the doctors office, whom you see all the time for blood and ultrasounds, kind of makes the let down easier. Then again it may be easier just to know. I guess I'm feeling kind of flip flop...Maybe if I get past this and it comes back negative, next round I might feel different. I'M SO CONFUSED.......

I don't think that your weird. You just might be stronger emotionally than someone like me. Everytime I would get that phone call to come in for blood and ultrasounds, I thought to myself, somethings wrong with me. I cried everyday for that week and half before I gave myself the shot and went in for the 1st round of IUI. For someone like me who had never gone through IUI's, shots, progestrone, chlomid and whatever else I have to take. Hearing it from someone at the doctors office, whom you see all the time for blood and ultrasounds, kind of makes the let down easier. There's nothing that you can do anyway until you get blood work from your doctor done...why be upset leading up to the appointment. Then again it may be easier just to know. I guess I'm feeling kind of flip flop...Maybe if I get past this and it comes back negative, next round I might feel different. I'M SO CONFUSED.......

Hi
Does anyone know how long it takes HCG(shots) to leave your system? Does it give a false positive on a pregnancy test???

kralml - October 16

For every 1,000 units received, I have been told that to count as a day. 1,000 units= 1 day 9,000= 9 days Hope this helps.

Cami,

yes, your hcg or trigger shot will give you a false positive if you test too early. My shot is 10,000 units, so it takes at least 10 days to leave my system. Though my doc said not to test before 14 days, so it may take longer for some than others. Hope this helps.
