Hello Everyone,

I am new to all of this. I am up late cause I want to know if I am pregnant, but I have until Thursday to find out. I do not feel any symptoms. I am doing IVF. I had a day 5 transfer of 1AA blastocyts on November 26th. I guess that these are the best possible blasts??? At least this is what my RE told me. I am alone in not feeling any symptoms? I just feel like my period is going to come. I get weird feelings down below and achy around my ovaries. My best friend tells me that she felt that way when she was pregnant. I had several of the classic symptoms after the retrival.....I guess from the hcg shoot, but they all went away around the time of the transfer. Is there anyone who felt symptoms of an oncoming period and had a positive pregancy result? HELP!!

Thanks Ladies!!

I am in the same boat I can do a preg test on thursday
I dont feel very positive because I feel the symptoms of my period coming on. I did hear that you can have symptoms of your period and be preg. I am not sure if we are going to try again if it didnt happen again this month.. (its getting the best of me) and starting to consume my life. I have been tossing the idea of doing a early preg test just for the heck of it. But I thought it would only depress me so I will wait till thur if no period I will do the test! good luck to you on thursday & let me
know the outcome.

Thanks ladies for all of your input. I had cramping the first few days following the transfer, but I also had constipation from that horrible progesterone.....so i am hoping that the cramping was implantation related and not constipation??? Ever since then, I have not had cramping, but another type of feeling i get when my period is about to come. Its hard to describe...kind of like a pressure feeling down below...achy ovaries and an achy sensation in my leg occassionally. Is there anyone out there that knows what I am talking about? well, i have3 more days until thursday....the wait is really torture. As much as I want to go out and to the home pregnancy test, i think that it will only cause me more stress and disappointment cause either way, the response could be inaccurate. I have chosen to torture myself instead til Thursday.....

hopeful DC, I too had feelings that I would get my period at any second and here I am carrying twins. Not only did I feel that way during the 2ww but I felt that way for a few months which was very scary, especially since I had 3 weeks of bleeding in the 1st trimester. I just hope that you get the results you are hoping for!

To you, hopeful DC and to you tickingclock, I am sending tons of baby dust and prayers and I just hope SO MUCH to read about BFP's later this week!! You will be in my thoughts of course. Karen

Thanks soo much Karen for your kind words and baby dust. This has been the hard process I have ever had to go through in my life. I have had 2 surgeries, tons of blood draws and injections....who would have guessed that about 8 months ago I was totally terrified of needles. This process sure did cure my phobia. I have not had any bleeding though. I am interested to know more about the type of experience you had Karen. You felt the symptoms I described in my earlier email along with actual bleeding or did the bleeding happen after your BFP? Did you have breast tenderness? I have not had any and this concerns me a lot. Thanks for sharing.

As for you tickingclock....we have the same D-day...I wish you the best of luck in your journey. I hope that we both have BFPs and we are all successful. Its nice to see that even after people get the BFP they still stick around on the site to help people in the 2ww...

Good luck Ladies!!

Hopeful DC, I did not have any bleeding when I felt all the mentrual cramp type feeling. The bleeding came much later. I went to a high risk doctor a couple of weeks ago (at 21 weeks pregnant and I am now 23 weeks) and he said I have full placenta previa which may have been the cause of the bleeding late in my first trimester. It was the first time I had some kind of explanation. As you can imagine, it was the most horrible experience ever as I felt sure I lost my babies when the bleeding started. But as far as the 2ww and 2 months or so after that, I consistently felt as if AF was coming at any second and it never did. I had breast tenderness from all the injections before I even had the ET so I couldn't count it as a symptom of being pregnant.

Again, I wish you both SO much luck! Everyone is very different and every pregnancy is very different and I truly believe that sometimes you'll have a ton of symptoms and sometimes none at all and it's really not an indication of pregnancy since you just never know which way it's going to go. Even after my BFP I was a complete wreck, crying all the time thinking I lost the babies. I guess it's natural for any woman, especially one that went to great measures to make this happen. If I say relax you'll just laugh as I realize that is impossible. All I can say is hang in there and we're all routing for you both. Please, please update us as soon as you hear anything. And let me tell you, if this part is hard, wait until the day of your results. Each minute is sheer torture just waiting for the phone call. But in the end if you have your long awaited BFP, it sure is worth it. BEST of luck!!!!!!!! Karen

You guys are really great. I have never done anything like this. Getting your messages has become the highlight of my day. It helps to ease you drama just a little to know that there are other people going through the same struggle. I am praying that one day all women will have access to this type of treatment and that insurance companies cover this expense. Though the treatment can not guarantee a successful pregnancy 100% of the time, may other treatments can not live up to that standard as well. Having a family is one of the main purposes of life!

Thanks again Karen for you info...Gina, I am right beside you with the 2ww....good luck!!!

Karen 123 -- wow placeta previa.. what did the doc say.. will you be ok (I don't know anything about it.. will go read up on it though!)

Tickingclock and Hopeful DC -- one more day to go. I had exact same symptoms as if AF was on her way and I got a BFP. I didn't feel ANY differently than any other cycle so was shocked when I had a positive.. the whole time I was positive that AF was on her way any day!

I did cheat and do an early pregnancy test and saw a second line.. which of course didnt't mean anything 100% but gave me hope. You are both probably stronger than I.. but if you are dying with the wait... go buy one!

Good luck.. let us know how your Thursday tests go! Baby dust

what does AF mean??? Is there a listing of all the acronyms that people use or are we just suppossed to use our common sense? I get most of them, but I have not been able to figure this one out????

baby4us - December 7

Sorry.. AF is "Aunt Flo".. I was just looking for it.. but I swear awhile ago there was a list of all the anacronyms... I can't find it on the forums.. so the best you can do is ask if there is one you don't understand.. hope that hekps!

Hello,
Just wanted to help out with the abbreviations. At the top of the board where you login and etc. Over to the right it says abbreviations. If you click on it, it will bring up a whole list of ones that are commonly used on the board. Hope this helps

hopeful DC - December 7

I found it...the abbreviation list is in the right hand corner of the page...

hopeful dc,
I'm predicting that you are pregnant. I had a/f symptoms and I'm pg w/ twins. I did have implantation bleeding the day before my pg test. My boobs and back were sore a couple days before my test. But other than that I didn't really have any other symptoms.

I'm wishing you the best of luck! Keep us posted

Cindy

Baby4us, Placenta previa more often than not corrects itself by the 3rd trimester as far as I can tell from my research. It's scary stuff since they talk of hemorraging and other serious problems but for now, I am just trying not to worry about it too much. I feel that if it's still an issue at my 12/21 u/s appt then I'll just follow the doctor's orders and all will be ok. The beauty of all the technology is that stuff like that is found early and monitored. I've read that if it lasts I may end up on bedrest or even hospital bedrest. I've also read that a C-section must be performed which is what I'm having anyway since both my daughters broke my tailbone on the way out and with twins my OB says it's safer for them. So, I'll take it as it comes. Yes, I'm nervous but again, I'll do anything I'm instructed to do and I just know this was all meant to be after all I've been through so I truly believe all will be ok in the end. Karen
