???This is very stressful... the waiting, the worrying. My first IUI was done last Sat. I really wasn't told what to expect during the 2ww. I've had light spotting off and on since IUI was done. I took Clomid day 3-7, had a hCG shot the day before IUI and started prometrium taken vaginally 3rd day after IUI. My blood test is Friday. I decided to join so I can support and be supported by others going through the same thing I am.

Hello and welcome to the site!

This site is a wonderful place for support. There are alot of very loving, caring women here that all can help you along.

The 2ww is the worst! I always felt like it dragged on forever and every. How are your doing with the progesterone supp? I have been on them since 2 days after my trigger shot, I am now 11 weeks pregnant. My re believes in keeping you on them till the end of your first trimester. For me it has been ok, but I do know that my nurse had told me it would not be uncommon to notice some spotting while using them.

I will be thinking about you. If you would like to chat, let me know. We can help you along though this wait. You are almost near the end. :)

Thanks, Liz. Since I'm not taking the progest. orally, I really haven't had any side effects ~whew!! Some light cramping off and on but nothing like what I get with af. I'm just hoping and praying that things all go right this first time. I've tried to prepare myself in case the blood test is negative. I know I would have 5 more tries. Right now, I'm just counting the days until this Friday.

hi guys. i'm also in the 2 www. had gonal f injections twice daily. had so many follicles that they wanted either to cancel or switch to ivf. too many other details to go into but in the end decided to go with ius and hope for the best. i am currently 8dpo. had serious cramps on 6dpo and was very worried. i had a mc back in april and remember getting cramps very early - at least 1 or 2 weeks before AF. but since then I have had 2 other IUIs and had these cramps with no luck. am taking 400 mg suppositories every night and 2 estradiol patches every other day. had really sore bbs about a week ago but read on some sites that this may be due to the progesterone. keep me posted on you guys.

:( Well, my wait is over....the test came back negative. Back to square one. At least now I know what to expect. Good luck to you ladies as you near the end of your waits. Liz, congrats to you.

Sorry to hear it didn't work for you - I've had 8 IUIs so far and am still very hopeful. one worked to get me pregnant though the pregnancy didn't last. i'm 11 dpo and still have my fingers cross. congrats to you Liz. I actually had entered the forum previously under a slightly different name (JLK) but I couldn't remember the password. It was several months ago and you gave me very helpful advice. I'm glad things are working out for you so far.

I am just joining. This site is really cool. I feel like I can hear about things other people like me are going through without having to go anywhere. At this point O just want to stay in bed until Monday. My blood test is on Monday. I am on my second ivf-actually this time we did icsi. I have been through 4 iui's with femera-like clomid but less side effects, 4 iui's with gonal-f and now 2 ivfs with follistim. They found out that some of my eggs are actually scarred from a "surgery gone bad" when I was 13. Anyway this 6 year journey has been an uphill battle. I wish I would have started ivf sooner. the shots are a piece of cake it is the waiting that makes me crazy. Every little ache or twitch concerns me. The funny thing is I use my breasts as a monitor. This is totally unscientific, but they say your breast swell when you are pregnant. Well if/when my stop swelling it usually means I am getting ready to start. So needless to say I look at my breast a lot to see if they are still swollen. It is enough to drive my husband crazy. Well I hope all goes well for you. Know that I am out here waiting, hoping, and believing with you.

Hi mamanr. Sorry for your BFN on your IUI. I remember when I did my first one, I was so sure it would work. Just be ready for some ups and downs in this whole process. That's why this site is so great, we are all here in the same boat and we can all relate and support each other. Don't hesitate to come and vent.
I would have lost my mind if I hadn't found this site last year.

Hang in there and don't lose faith.
Baby dust to you for the next IUI.
Fiso

PS. Are you French Canadian? I'm asking because of the maman!

daumit - October 9

Believe - I think I'm in the same boat as you - my symptons actually start to go away right before AF which usually totally throws me off. I'm 13 dpo today and did a test which was a BFN. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though. Good luck on Monday. JK

Lisa -
I am sorry to hear of your bfn. Please keep the faith! Sometimes it not only takes faith but lots of patience.

JK -
I remember you. Best of luck to you, I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Believe -
Good luck!

Liz

Quick question for folks: I got a BFN on 13dpo. I just read some blog which said that you can still test postive but that there is only an 8% chance. I'd like to believe it's higher than that since I still don't have my period. Any success stories out there??

Fiso,

Nope, not French Canadian... just a middle school/high school French teacher from Upstate NY. Thanks everyone. I'm going Wed. for an u/s before starting a new round of Clomid. They want to make sure there's no cysts.

Wow Liz! Congrats! I leave the board for a few weeks and I come back and your 11 weeks prego :) I said in my last post that I had to catch up on my reading because there may be some good news at the end of the thread and I was right!!! You are always so positive and you deserve it. Hopefully we'll all be following in you footsteps soon.

Hi everyone,

I"m pretty new to this site but I've been away for a few weeks I've been having internet issues off and on so it wasn't much fun being online and then losing my connection. We'll I'm back on track and catching up on all of your post.

Liz: congrats again
Mamanar: Sorry about your last IUI, but hang in there and stay positive. Liz is an excellent example for us all.

To the rest of us who are still trying I'm praying for us all and hopefully we all get a BFP this month. As for me I just had my 4th IUI on this past Sat the 7th and I'm on 100mg of clomid and the hot flashes are KILLING ME!! I'm also on the trigger shot.

I had cramps all day on Sat and Sun after my IUI has anyone else experienced this? I've had 3 before and I never had any cramps after the IUI.

I noticed that you had an iui the same day as me and I just wanted to tell you that I can relate with the anxiety that you are feeling. Just to give you hope where I work someone had IVF the same day we had the iui and today there result came back positive. So keep thinking positive and keep me posted on your preg test.

Hello!

I'm new to this forum. I am 13 days post iui. This was our second attempt. I'm waiting until morning to try another HPT. I tried on days 10 and 11 and got BFN both times. I know it was early, but some people are able to get positives by those days :).
Anyway, someone asked about cramping post iui. I've had cramping both months. The doctor tells you that it's ok to continue nomal activity after iui, but I have to tell you that's just not possible for me!!!
Both months, I've had serious ovulation pain beginning around the time of iui and lasting the rest of the afternoon/evening. (Several years ago, I went through a year and a half period where I had this pain every month. My ob couldn't find anything wrong and said that some women just have pain with ovulation. Well, I haven't had that for almost 3 years. I guess that's about the time I stopped ovulating on my own.) OK, that was somewhat off the subject.
Anyway back to iui. The first month, I began cramping on day 3. I had bad cramps on days 3 through 5, then mild cramping the rest of the month. No baby. This month, cramping began on day 5. Not as bad as last month and has lasted the entire 2 weeks. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. Last month, I was sure it had worked. Otherwise, why the cramping? Now I think it could just be side effects from the clomid and trigger shot. Anyone else experience the cramping?
