Hi all and once again thanks for the support.

Nix, I think we´ve all felt like we hit rock bottom after AF arrives, but now you have a new illusion and so much can happen in one year. Keep your hopes up.

It has almost been a week since the IUI and I haven´t felt anything, I wonder if this will be another disappointment, I am almost expecting it.

I´ve tried to remain clam and not to stress it, but so far no symptoms whatsoever.

Good morning ladies. I have not been on for awhile. The new job has me beat most times in the evening. I go for the first trimester screening ultrasound today. Wish me luck.

Nix - You have hit a little hurdle in your journey but, it seems as though you know where you want to head from here. That is a good thing. I will keep you in my prayers.

Everyone else - how is everything any new BFPs? Anyone stressing over their 2ww? Anyone testing soon?

My goodness missing a few days is like missing and eternity. I feel so out of the loop.

Talk to you all later.

Hey guys.

I have two more days before testing but I feel a little cramping so I think that AF will be here soon

sucks!

Nix - September 26

Hey Zuliviolet! Try to stay positive (I know - easier said than done). Keep us informed, we're all praying for you!!

Ok I feel better now,

I think IUI timing was wrong. On Tuesday it was exactly 14 days after my IUI but I felt cramping so I didn't bother with a preggo test (can't bear another BFN)

I'm usually on a 31 day cycle but this month I got the HCG injection a couple of days earlier (the doctor said the egg looked good for ovulation.

I started spotting and cramping, meaning I should get my period tomorrow on time (for the 31 day cycle)

this month I'm going on 100mg of Clomid.

this is all so complicated!

thanks to all for the support

it feels good to "talk" to ppl that understand.

Warning to those looking for IVF Vacations....

I just finished my 2ww, and was lucky to test positive yesterday after my second try at IVF.
My reason for writing is I noticed several people were talking about IVF Vacations. I am a RN, and I work as an OR Director for a Plastic Surgery practice in Michigan. Today we worked for 8 1/2 hours on a patient to "fix" the Plastic Surgery Vacation she took. It cost her a week in an intensive care unit, an additional $20,000+ to fix it, and mental anguish. After her procedure she got deathly ill, they discharged her and sent her on a plane back to the US, the amublance was waiting for her when she got off and she spent a week in ICU. I know IVF isn't Plastic Surgery, however like my RE talks to me about, they are very similiar. The patients want something very bad and are willing to pay high sums of cash for it. I'd hate for someone to go away to get something done and have them do irreversable dammage. There are usually reasons things are cheaper elsewhere. Another thing to remember is we (those living in the US) are naive regarding advertising. In many other countries they can advertise what they want (success rates, infection numbers, etc) and noone is regulating it like they do here.
I just got home after a very long day, I read those post and felt I must let you know what may happen.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!!

Nix - October 1

Zuliviolet - HUGE congratulations to you!!!! I am so happy for you!!!!!! That has given me a bit of hope, because I will be doing yet ANOTHER IUI next cycle. My husband and I decided to try one more IUI before we move onto IVF.
Windy - thanks for the advice on medical vacations! I realize that there are always risks involved in things like this and that careful research needs to be done. I think that in my case, it's slightly different. I have decided to have IVF done in South Africa. The difference is that I am South African. I have only lived in the USA for 2 and a half years. So, if we hadn't moved here, I would probably been to the same RE in South Africa anyway (I know, it's ironic). The medical care in South Africa is fantastic, we have some of the best doctors in the world (not just in fertility), for example, a South African doctor was the first doctor in the WORLD to do a heart transplant. My doctor here in the States, is South African too, he has been here for several years, but he is considered one of the worlds best RE's. Unfortunately, I can not afford to do IVF here, I wish I could, because the thought of flying for 18 hours to have a precedure done that might not work is not ideal. But the thing is, it might work, and if it doesn't, I can actually afford to try again because of the money that we will have saved. So, while Windy is correct in saying that medical vacations have risks, all medical procedures, even ones in the States can be risky if you don't do your homework properly. I would seriously think twice about going through one of those companies that organize IVF vacations, I think it is far better to go by other people's recomendations. I guess it's what ever works for the individual, but I want a baby so much, and this seems like the only option at this stage.

Zuliviolet - Congratulations to you that is great. Happy to have you join us in the pregnancy after inferlity club.

Nix - honey I know somehow, someway it will happen for you. YOu have a positive outlook and are doing what you beliee to be the best for you. A friend of mine did go overseas after many many unsuccessful attempts at IUI and IVF here in the states and she is now BFP. so sometimes a little to somewhere that is out of the normal is what can trigger it. Best of luck in your next IUI cycle or in your IVF cycle.

Any other news that I have missed recently?

Has anyone seen Red on here lately? I thought she would have started a new cycle by now.

Talk to you all later.

Windy - October 1

Nix-
Great advice, research and recomendations are the best bet for finding a RE...... Good luck with everything.

zuliviolet - October 1

Even though I have to surpass the first trimester, I can't tell you guys how happy I am to have just gotten a positive.

Nix, please don't lose faith, you keep praying because miracles do happen,

I will pray for you as well, and try to stay relax, I now truly believe that stress is a factor but how can we not be streessed????

Nix I also heard that acupuncture is another great way to "try" before you go into IVF treatments.

Jenny thanks for all the good wishes,

I'm praying that all goes well and I don't miscarry.

victoira - October 2

I did an IUI on OCT 1 and I have a little of cramp. This will be my 4th time doing an IUI, the 3rd time I miscarried. So did any of you have cramps ofter an IUI?

Nix - October 2

Hi Victoria,

I am about to embark on my 4th IUI attempt. I had cramping after all of my IUI's, unfortunately, none of them were successful. My RE said that the cramping can be attributed to the fact that your overies have been stimulated. I don't think it's anything to worry about.
Hope that helped.

Nikki

Red - October 3

Hi Jenny~Unfortunately I cannot start a cycle for a while. I was supposed to miscarry naturally and did not. They then gave me medicine to force me to miscarry which is sheer HELL!! I would not wish that upon anyone. They gave me 4 times the usual dose to ensure it would happen. I was off the of September 17 and still have high HCG levels. I can't be cleared until they zero out. I should know today if that has happened. I check up on everyone once in a while, but it is still too difficult for me. I know time will heal all wounds and God has a plan, but it is just such a difficult time right now. I am happy to hear everyone seems to be doing well. Hope you baby puppies are growing and you continue to be blessed. Take care!
