Hi
I am looking for those who would like a cycle buddy or waiting companion while waiting for your upcoming DE cycle? All welcome though.

Alittle about me: 37, DH is 35. We suffered through 3 early m/c's and a chemical pg TTC #1 since Sept 2005. As well as a failed IVF cycle this past May 07. I am able to get pg naturally but we did the IVF inorder to do PGD (pre implantation genetic diagnosis) as recommended by my RE. We cancelled the PGD on day 2 because we only had a few embryo's that made it to 2 cell. Disappointing to say the least. We transferred two embies on Day 3 (1-5 cell Grade A the best, and 1-7 cell Grade B. BFN.

Then our 1st DE cycle was scheduled for this past Sept/Oct 07, everything was going great. Donor stimmed great, my lining was all set and ready to go at 10.5 triple stripe, it couldn't have looked any better. Until it all fell apart at egg retrieval. No eggs were retrieved! Only to find out an hour later that the donor mistakenly took the HCG shot on the wrong night and all the eggs were destroyed. :o :'( We couldn't believe it, we were devastated. Our donor was crying, the staff were all upset, this had never happened before.

Fortunately for us, our donor wanted to stim for us again at no extra charge to "make it right" and our clinic helped us to afford to cycle again. Our re-do DE cycle is scheduled for Jan/Feb. I start Lupron on 1/1 and Donor starts stims on 1/20, ET is 1/30-1/31 and hopefully do a 5 day transfer of 2 blasts. Praying we get there this time.

Anyone like to join me?
Cathy

Hi Cathy,

Wow... exciting! Good luck on your cycle!

Hubby and I just returned from Denver where we had our first IVF with DE. Everything looks positive. I test on the 26th! They transferred 2 beautiful embryos on day 5 that the doctor said could not be more perfect. We had four left to freeze.

Gosh... the wait is sooo difficult. I have had a lot of cramping which the nurse has assured me is normal. I am just trying to be positive... well... we know how that goes! :-\ I am second guessing every twinge.

I am going to say lots of prayers for you Cathy. I am right there with ya girl! We are not cycling at quite the same time, but that doesn't mean we can't lean on each other for support!

Wishing you tons of Babydust
Laura

My wife and i are starting to look into the donor program. DO you have a recommendation?

anyone have any recomendations for donor programs

JADE0199 - December 22

Hi ckirk - I'm not sure I can recommend an actual donor program but I can share with you our experiences and the path that we have taken in pursing DE.
Here are some suggestions:
1) consult with your RE first, many of them offer DE programs. Some are better than others in that they have larger DE pools and the wait is typically shorter. Unfortunately, I don't think you can see the donors photos but am not 100%.
2) you can find a donor thru an agency. That was what we did. YOur RE can give you a list of agencies that they may recommend or prefer to work with. We were lucky and find our donor thru an agency that our RE spoke highly of. Agencies also take care of the legal contract, offer donor insurance and set up the appts with the clinic's coordinator. You can view possible donors in the privacy of your own home.
3) you can find donors independently thru the internet or newspaper, but I think those are risky and believe it would be a known donor not anonymous.
4) I've recently found out that Shady Grove does a shared risk DE program 1:1 1:2 or 1:3 (being the least expensive) and you get a guarantee of up to 6 fresh transfers or 100% of your money back if a live birth does not result, which I think is the best and safest option and would have gone this route had we known about it, however it is out of state for us but would consider it if we had too.

I hope this helps out some, good luck in your search and please feel free to contact me if you have any more questions. :)

Hello everyone,

I am pregnant!!!!!!!!

Holy cow, I never thought I would get here! My HCG numbers are really high so they think there might be 2 in there!

I almost had a heart attack from the wait yesterday they didn't call until almost 6 pm.

Meg,
It's so good to hear from you! Thank you for your kind words. Email me anytime. I am a good listener if you ever need to vent or just need someone to talk to.

I miss everyone from our old group from a few years ago. I think I am the last one in the bunch to join in the ranks of pregnancy.... I'm such a slacker!

Take care,
Laura

My ultrasound is on the 14th. We will see if there are one or two in there!
