Hello,
Sorry I haven't been on the boards in awhile, I've been camping out at the hospital everyday and I finally have 10 mins. Kyle and Angela has been there a little over 2 months. Kyle is suppose to come home in the next couple of days..... Angela is a little behind and will stay there a little bit longer. She is getting a shunt put in her head on Monday to help her with her fluid in her head. I have been a wreck. It's one thing after another with her. She is getting everything a preemie gets when it's a preemie. Kyle only had some infections and is fine but my poor Angela has it all from brain bleeds to ROP. They said her tissue is already damaged from the bleeding, so that could result in Cebral Palsey or mental retartdation but they won't know for sure until she hits 1 or 2 years old. But they have to tell you the worse, so she might have nothing at all.
I can't catch a break but we will love her and spoil her and treat her like a normal kid if she does have something major.
Sorry for being a Debbie Downer but I thought if I talked about it, it would make me feel better.
They are getting big, Kyle is 4lbs and 4oz and she is 4lbs and 3oz. Thanks for listening.

Cindy

Cindy,

I have been wondering how you and your babies have been doing, especially since Karen 123 checked in yesterday. I am so sorry that you have been through so very much. I can't imagine what you have been going through. I know having babies 2 months premature has had its ups and downs, so I know that what you have been going through is a lot worse. You are not being a "Debbie Downer" as you call it. I see it more as you are being realistic and finding a way to cope with what you are dealing with. I hope that you are finding support at the hospital from other parents who have been through what you are now going through.

I am assuming since the babies were micropreemies that you will pick up early intervention services almost immediately for your babies. We did not start early intervention until Ainsley was 10 months and Gavin was 16 months. They will both continue with it until they hit 3 years old, and if there are still issues they will move onto the intermediate unit. Early intervention has been such a help in their development and my sanity.

I will continue to pray for you and for your little Angela. I hope that you have the best case scenario. Please know that we are here for you. Please take care of yourself and try to find the time to be good to yourself, which I know is much easier said than done.

I am sending many hugs your way :)

Take Care,
Meg

OooO my goodness. You and your family are in my prayers. Things will work out. Angela will be the brave little girl you know she is.
