His name is Luke Andrew. We are really looking forward to this little man.

Maybe it is just me, but have you all noticed that the singleton IVF pregnancies on this board have tended to be boys. Has anyone recently had a single girl prenancy on this board????? This could be an interesting topic!

Here is another thing I heard, if you had a frozen IVF compared to a fresh IVF, the boys rarely survive the process. So another question for all those who are having boys, did you have fresh or frozen IVF?

JustMe,

Congratulations!! Now you have a boy and a girl!! I am very happy for you. Did you have the full Level 2 u/s or just a regular one? DH and I go for Level 2 u/s on 12/29 and can't wait!! My OB thinks it's a boy and a girl, but we need confirmation on 12/29. I am a little over 19 weeks now and I think you are 1 day ahead of me. I remember your ER and ET and all back in August...how time flies!!

Have a great Christmas!!

Sue

Hey ladies!!

I have a boy, too...seems there are a lot of them. I actually asked my OB about the number of boys...no real answer as to why.

BUT, I did see a program on the news the other night that a big national study was just done to prove that the longe a woman waits to have a baby, the greater her chances of having a boy. Additionally, women who waited longer and had some kind of intervention with medication (whether IUI or IVF), this actually increased chances of having a boy.

Of course, right then, my boy lost his mind and I had to go feed him, so I didn't get to see the end of the story to hear why.

Women with PCOS have a higher than normal testerone level, so maybe that contributes as well??

I also think that all the hormones and antibiotics they're pumping into our meat and food contributes to the predominance of boys. I actually can't eat much meat because I'm so sensitive to the hormones.

Okay, there you have my ponderings for the day. I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas, a very Happy Hannukah, a very Happy Kwanzaa, a very Happy Solstice and a very Happy Ramadan. Think I've covered them all...since we're global, I don't want to offend anyone.

Much love and continued best wishes to all of you!!

Sue, we just had a regular sono, but it was better and more clear that my level 2 I had with my daughter 4 years ago. I guess the technology has improved since then.

FYI, my IVF was a fresh cycle

Justme, AWESOME news!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I'm thrilled for you!

I just had my 2nd visit with my high risk doctor yesterday and had an u/s. I'm 25 weeks now. Both babies are developed perfectly. It's SUCH a relief to hear the word "normal" said so many times during an u/s. My little girl Hailey is a bit small, only 1 pound 3 oz so he's somewhat concerned. My son Jayden is 1 pound 7 oz which he said is on the small side but still in the normal range. He said Hailey just may be a petite little girl so not to worry, just something to watch. So I get to go again in 3 weeks! It'll be my 11th u/s. Unreal. Also, my placenta previa is gone!! So it was a great visit! Nice Christmas gift for me. He also confirmed that the pain I've been feeling high on the right side of my uterus is because of 2 things, 1 that my uterus grew so fast with twins that it's actually pulling the muscle off my ribs and 2, Jayden's head is jammed up there in the same spot. LIttle bugger. :)

Anyway, again, Happy holidays to all and justme, that is wonderful news! Karen
