Baby4us,
There is only one thing i know about being pregnant(I have four daughters) and that is that each pregnancy is different and there is no way to tell what you are having by how your carrying(high or low) or how you are feeling......I had no pregnancy symptoms with 2 of my girls and then with the others I was so sick I couldn't smell food without throwing up. It is fun to guess and wonder though.
My DH insists that once we get that far we find out the sex of our baby(babies), he wants to know ahead of time so we can plan. I would rather wait and find out when I give birth. To me it is kind of like opening the Christmas presents early...LOL
My DH insists we are having twin boys.....I guess we will find out on the 23rd whether there is more than one or not. I am so worried about the possibility of a chemical pregnancy I think it will definetly put my mind at ease when I see the heartbeat.
Well, I hope you all are feeling well and getting plenty of rest. Take care and keep me updated!!!!!

I have my fingers crossed for you for the 23rd!!!!

I'll be interested to know if you are having b/g twins or not... it seems to me.. that most people going through fertility treatments end up with b/g twins... would be interesting to find out why..

But from your note.. you actually won't know for sure if you are carrying twins or not until the 23rd? How exciting! My beta numbers were high.. thought I was carrying twins.. but I just have the one little fella! So you never know!

So far so good with me.. am going into my 24th week.. have my ultrasound on Wednesday. The only thing is.. I have gained so much weight.. which has been hard for me to take.. I am so active and watch my weight.. but I took a conscious effort when I got pregnant.. I was just going to take it easy (walk a lot) .. eat well and enjoy life... and they say you shouldn't gain more than around 30 or so lbs during your pregnancy..well.. I think I am already at the 30lb mark!!!!
yikes!!!

Sylvia,
I wanted to find out the sexes but dh brought up a good point, he said waiting for the hospital might be our last surprise in our life. I started thinking and he's right, I was surprised when dh proposed to me, I was surprised when I had a 30th surprise b-day party and really surprised when we found out that I was pg and extra surprised when I found out that I was pg w/ twins. So after thinking about it, I decided that we would wait until the delivery. I might not have any more babies and I'm just getting older and have nothing to look forward to until retirement... lol

So maybe put that in the back of your mind when tempted to find out the sexes, that maybe this is your last chance of being surprised with something.

Cindy,
Hey you don't have to convince me...I've done it both ways. My DH is the one who really insists we find out the sex of the baby. I think though with my ex husband we kind of just assumed we were having girls after the first two. LOL
I want to just sit back relax and enjoy this pregnancy knowing it will be my last. But I think every day brings some suprise...maybe a small one but. I guess you can say I have a Pollyanna view of the world. LOL
What were your beta levels on yuor first blood draw? I am curious b/c one doctor tells me mine are high which in his opinion indicates I MIGHT be carrying twins, and another says that there is a broad range of normal and admits my betas were high. I can't wait to find out!!!!!
Well, must run I really need a nap. Take care and I'll talk to ya soon.

Sylvia,
1445 and my estrogen levels were 48.3, what were your betas again?

They didn't test my estrogen, just HCG at 11 days post transfer it was 239 then at 13 days it went to 471, all the other women in my IVF group had a HCG level of 48.5 then barely 100 2 days later. I'm a little confused, my clinic said normal range for a singleton was around 50-100 HCG.....who knows. I guess the only way to know is the ultrasound, I was just trying to get numbers for reference. How many days post transfer was your blood draw?

Sylvia,
Don't go by my numbers, I was in shock from hearing the news that I didn't question the numbers. Those numbers could of been my progestrone levels and not my beta numbers. I had my pg test 2 weeks after the transfer.

Before I knew I was having twins, I kept having dreams that I was pg w/ twins. My dreams were actually right for once. So if your having dreams w/ twins then you never know, it could be coming true.

Did you have a lot of implantation bleeding? They say with twins, you have a lof of implantation bleeding in the early stages of pregnancy. I had the bleeding a day before my pg test and a couple days after.

I guess you will find out soon! Keep us posted...

Cindy
