early miscarriage/natural/now d&c/future fertility

We did a FET in Dec. that resulted in a pregnancy. We saw and heard the heartbeat, but at our 8 week ultrasound there was no heartbeat. I chose to handle the miscarriage naturally. Within 2 days the miscarriage was completed. (Jan. 28th) I did a followup with the ob and she said everything looked good and I should have my period within 2-4 weeks. I did have some bleeding about 3 weeks later, so I assumed it was my period. We do not have anymore frozen embryos so we are wanting to try a fresh cycle again. Our first fresh cycle was successful and we have 21 month old twins. We went in for a consult, bloodwork and ultrasound. This was at the clinic, not the ob that I did my followup with. The blood work showed that my estrogen was going up rather than down, like it should have been if it was truely my period. We ended up doing a high resolution ultrasound and they determined that I had a small amount of retained tissue. They are now wanting to do a d&c. It is scheduled for the 15th. She is not doing surgeries this next week so that is why there is a wait. We were originally going to try to do to do a May cycle. The nurse told me that it shouldn't hold us up any, but I definately don't want to rush into a cycle if my body isn't ready. She originally told me that if my period was before April 20th that I could hold off starting BCPs until April, but everything (BCP and period) have to be over 7 days before the meds start (April 27th). If we do the May cycle I wonder if they will start me on BCPs right after the d & c or what. I do a preop on the 13th, I guess I will figure it all out then. Like I said before I don't want to rush into a cycle too soon, but I don't want to wait either. Has anyone been in this situation? What was the process that you took?
