I am 27 years old and was told Monday that my 6th baby died at 8 weeks (the oldest yet). I was on Repronix and took progesterone shots. Obviously, it was not sucessful. My RE thinks it has something to do with clotting...eventhough all the clotting tests came back normal (as well as everyother test done).
So, now she wants me to start taking Lovenox. I'm not going to lie, my husband and I where more that a little scared when she told us about all the possible side effects (one being death). I guess I don't know if this is the right choice for me since I don't have any blood clotting factors. Is my RE just grasping for straws or is this really something I should consider doing. I guess I don't really have many option.
If anyone has any input, I would really appreciate it.

Iola, I'm sorry for your losses. I'm 42, I have a 17 year old, 1 stillborn of 8 months, and 7 miscarriages. Like yourself, my blood seems to be fine with no clotting, but with this last miscarriage, I was on lovenox and baby aspirin. I'm Rh negative, and both pregnancies that reached the 8 months, the babies were premies, weighing 3 and 1/2 pounds and less. My Dr. says that the nutrients in the blood doesn't seem to reach the baby, therefore the baby doesn't gain weight like it should (in my case), so i was OK with the blood thinners. Now I'm going to an infertility clinic where the Dr. thinks my hormone level could be low. (Oh, and I also did the progesterone suppositories 2x day). My cycle is 21-25 days, but never missed a period. This is why he thinks that my hormone level is low. In my next cycle he's going to do IUI, but he's also going to prescribe some antibiotics for me and my DH, and he's going to put me on clomid for my next cycle. He had me do some blood work, and we'll see those results next week, he's also going to do a water sonogram to see what's going on in my uterus, this week. What have you had done? What type of blood are you? Are your levels rising like they should?
Side effects can scare anyone, I'm with you, but I'm still here, and the only thing that lovenox left me with was bruises, and those disappeared already. A girl I work with did lovenox 2x a day for her full pregnancy and has a beautiful daughter. Be strong, and take care of yourself. Good luck, and let me know what happens.....
