I have an 8 month old baby as a result of IVF (2 frozen embryos transferred) and am trying to decide how many embryos to transfer this time. I am now 38 years old but read that once you have a successful pregnancy through IVF that the chance of twins or triplets increases through IVF. Is this a fact? How many embryos would you recommend?
Thank you.

We typically grow embryos to the blastocyst stage, before we either transfer or freeze them. We almost always transfer 2. Rarely, we will have only 3 available and put in 3. Good luck.

Dr. Jacobs, Thanks for responding. Do statistics show an increase in twins and multiples on the second round of IVF? Thanks again.

I have seen no such data. Good luck.
