HI Dr. Jacobs, I have question.If a Husband and wife are trying to get pregnant and have No infertility problems And have Intercourse 24 hours BEFORE ovulation so the sperm will be up in the woman's tubes waiting for the egg to released. How long will conception take Place? , Meaning once the mature egg pops out of the ovary and is picked up by the tube, and the sperm is already there waiting in the tube. ( How long will it take for the sperm to fertilize the egg in the Tube?) Would it take minutes or hours? Thank You.

The only data we have arer from the IVF lab. WE inseminate eggs after retrieval and check for fertilization in the next morning. All the eggs which will fertilize have done so over night.
