protocol change

Hi Dr. Jacobs,

I am starting my second round of ivf/ icsi for male factor.

During my first round, I stimmed remarkably fast (we triggered after only 5 days of stims, my E2 was over 900 on day 3). We used follistim and ganarelix... no lupron. Retrieved 19 eggs, 10 of which were mature.

this time I am doing a long lupron protocol instead. My RE says he thinks this will slow things down.

Does this seem to make sense to you? Do you think the short stim phase of my first try contributed to the negative outcome?

Thank you for any input you can offer.

The decision about your protocol has to be that of your RE. Except for my patients I expect to be poor responders, I use a long Lupron protocol.
Good luck.
