Hi, I recently had a 21-day progesterone blood test done (unmedicated) and after calling for the results from a nurse, I was told the results on the screen came back as "ok - ovulating" and had 31 next to it. I have yet to see the doctor as I am waiting for my partner's tests to be carried out, but can anyone explain what this figure means? I have visited different sites giving variable "normal ranges" so I'm really confused! The result was actually taken 8 days past ovulation so it wasn't strictly a 21 day test but a 22. ???

Aftr ovulation, the ovary starts secreting progesterone. There are times that an ovary secretes progesterone without releasing the egg. The follicle just becomes a cyst. Your progesterone level was in a range consistant with ovulation, but that does not prove ovulation. For more information, please see our web site, <www.texasfertility.com>.
Good luck.
