Dear Dr. Jacobs,
Do OPKs work differently from each other? I've been using Clear Blue Easy OPKs for months. Then a friend of mine recommended this device that uses Electrolyte Methodâ„¢ for predicting ovulation. It says that the products using the Electrolyte Method have been shown to predict ovulation with 98% accuracy. Unlike the test sticks which might give false positives. Are there any studies done on this?
Appreciate your advise. Thank you.

Since it is possible to go through all of the hormonal changes of ovulation, without releasing the egg (ovulating), none of the OPK's is truly accurate. There are only 2 ways to document ovulation. One, obviously, is pregnancy. The otherr is to use ultrasound to identify a preovulatory follicle, then follow up ultrasound to determine it is gone. It ruptured to release the egg. Good luck.
