Dear Dr Jacobs,
First, thanks so much for this wonderful forum.

What do you advise for post-imlantation activity levels?

We have heard a range of things including:
1. Go about your normal business but no exercise;
2. Stay at home and supine as much as possible for 5 days;
3. Don't squat! (Not clear how one goes to the toilet if you follow rule 3).

Are there reliable studies on these things? If not, why not?

Thanks a lot.

Obviuosly IVF patients experience a great deal to achieve a pregnancy, but after implantation, it is any other pregnancy. The risks for that pregnancy are the same as if implantation took place as an unplanned event. If pregnancy were that delicate that you required bed rest after implantation, what do you think the world's population would be? I have my patients remain at bed rest for 2 days after transfer, and then resume normal activities, after embryos have had a chance to implant in the endometrium.
Good luck.
