:)Hi--
How does abnormal semen get corrected?
My dr. said my husband should see a urologist.
I'm being sent to another gyn that deals with infertility problems.
My dr. mentioned possibly having a ICI done.
I would guess the sperm would have to be corrected first right?
I also heard that this ICI procecedure is afordable.
So, I'm already counting on that being the soluton to helping me have a second child.
I'm 42,and was told I look healthy on the inside!
Thanks for any info!
Kris.

I collaborate with a sub-specialist urologist, who is actually trained to do male fertility work. I routinely refer men with less than normal semen parameters. Even with ICSI we get better fertilization and embryo developement, if we address the underlying cause of the male factor problem. Please recognize that in order to do ICSI, you need to do IVF. If you do not have insurance coverage for IVF, that is an expensive process. You should also note that at the age of 42, your chance of a healthy pregnancy is poor. Based on SART statistics, the probablility of an embryo implanting is about 1/3 of what it would be if you were 32. Age of eggs is a real issue. You are better served using an egg donor.
Good luck.
