Hello,
Me and my wife will soon be starting IVF/ICSI. It is a male factor issue. We are trying to decide on the amount of embryos to trasfer (1 or 2). She is age 34 and has no female reproductive factors. We really don't want twins but we only have one shot at this since our insurance does not cover it for us.
Question: I know that miscarriage can be an issue with IVF. When two embryos are transfered is it possible to miscarriage one and not the other or would they both be lost in that situation?

In our program, we typically transfr 2 embryos, and have a 10% to 15% twinning rate. Sometimes we do identify 2 gestational sacs, and only 1 has a fetus. The pregnancy continues as a singleton. Good luck.
