Lupron and days to suppression

Dr. Jacobs,

I switched to a different clinic for my next IVF procedure and am a little uncertain about the following since it's different than what I've done in the past or heard of others doing:

I am to start Lupron on Day 21 of my birth control pills (so only one day overlap) then I am scheduled to go in 5 days later for an ultrasound and bloodwork to see if I'm suppressed.

I'm following their instructions but am just wondering if it's even possible that I'd be suppressed after only 5 days on Lupron (I am taking 10 units per day). Are most women suppressed after so few days on Lupron. I just don't think I've ever been asked in so early for a suppression check.

Your opinion would be appreciated!

Thank you,

Staci

actually, Lupron is used to suppress the LH surge, which occassionally occurs late in the stimulation without Lupron. The premature LH surge ruins the eggs.
Good luck
