Dr. Jacobs,
My 32-year-old daughter (with endometriosis and 2 laparoscopies for cysts as the cause of her DOR) has gone through only two cycles. The first (a Lupron protocol) was cancelled due to FSH 15. The second (Climara, Gonal F, Repronex, Antagon) was cancelled due to poor response--Day 3 FSH was 2, E2 was 225, but only one follicle 16mm, and two other smaller follicles developed. Last week, she did IUI instead of IVF. We're not hopeful. The RE says he's given her the strongest protocol, and has nothing further to offer. He has already recommended the DE route, although is willing to take her through one more cycle on the same Antagon protocol, no changes.
I have three questions: (1) Could the same protocol produce different results? (2) Have you any recommendations for possible changes in her protocol? (3) Would you seek another RE's opinion in this case if this were your daughter?
