IUI vs IVF with borderline FSH

I am 35 1/2 years old. I've just completed my initial workup and have been diagnosed with reduced ovarian reserve. Day 3 FSH was 12.8 and after CCT was 8.0 on Day 10. All other tests have been normal so far (HSG, PRL, TSH, T3/T4, testosterone, estradiol). On ultrasound I had 7 follicles on one side and 9 on the other. My husband has azoospermia due to a Y chromosome defect--so we will need to use donor sperm. So now what to do? My RE seems to be favoring IUI. But I feel like with a reduced ovarian reserve is it worth trying such a low yield procedure as IUI? Am I better off going straight to IVF?

There are an number of papers in the literature with dada implying that the best test of ovarian reserve is a cycle day 3 follicle count. You want more than 4 follicles per ovary. You may well have adequate ovarian reserve, in spite of yourFSH. Good luck.
