Hi Dr. Jacobs,
I am a healthy 33yo female with a normal workup. My husband's sperm analysis showed 106mil sperm (41mil/ml in 4mls) with 63% motility, a grade of 2.5, and a strict Kruger morphology of 3.5%. I've read that men with less than 4% strict morphology should go straight to ICSI. However, is the total sperm count of 106mil with 63% motility high enough to counteract the low morphology and warrant a trial of min stim IUI first? So, would you recommend min stim IUI or straight to ICSI? Thank you very much for your response!

Given the total count and motility, it is possible that stimulation of your ovaries with FSH and performing intrauterine insemination may produce a pregnancy. Since I collaborate with a subspecialist urologist, trained to treat male fact fertility problems, I recommend evaluation and possible treatment of the male, before determining a treatment plan for the wife. Good luck.
