Doctor, in one of the threads, you stated you had not prescribed clomid in over 15 years and referr to better meds on the market. my question is do you still recommend the CCCT test to test for responsiveness. Also, what risks could i be looking at if i am taking 100 mg of clomid for ccct?
I am 34 w/ FSH 8.1 and E2 of 18 at day three tests and waiting for day 10 to take second read of FSH.
thank you.

The clomiphene challenge test is a reasonable test, and a single cycle of 100 mg for 5 days is probably not going to do any harm. I do not use that test for ovarian reserve. There are data in the literature that an antral follicle count with ultrasound is at least as sensitive at detecting poor ovarian reserve. The are also data implying that a day 3 estradiol with FSH determination is as effective as the ccct. I do the follicle count anfd the day 3 blood work. It seems to be a good protocol. Good luck.
