My husband recently had a sperm analysis performed and the comment they made was that there was "poor recovery due to large volume of gel clots." What does that mean and what causes that? Should there be no gel clots?
Also, I will be going through IVF. Should ICSI be used?

I have never seen a description of gel clots in a semen specimen. I do not know enough about your husband's semen parameters to determine if you need ICSI.
