I have severe endometriosis and usually have really bad periods with lots of bloating and a lot of pain. My abdominal skin usually hurts to touch and I get referred shoulder/neck pain on the right side. I am currently doing an IVF round and am in horrible pain, mainly in the shoulder/neck area. I have been taking Advil around the clock because it is the only way I can function/sleep. I am really concerned this will continue if I get pregnant and I will be unable to take any medication for the pain. Do you suggest I stop this cycle and have my endometriosis looked at first? Thank you.

One of the archeic treatments for endometriosis was referred to as a "pseudo-pregnancy". High doses of birth control pills were administered for as long as a year. It did not get rid of the endometriosis, but frequently it temporarily relieved the symptoms. I have no basis to tell you you should stop your IVF cycle.
Good luck.
