Does insulin resistance always mean PCOS?

Hi Dr. Jacobs, I am currently seeing an RE and will be having my tubes xrayed and my glucose levels tested. My OB thought I might have PCOS, but that was later ruled out with an ultrasound. Here's my situation, I currently have 28-30 cycles consistently and I have been charting and do not ovulate every month. All the reading I have been doing about PCOS and insulin resistance links the two together. Could I be insulin resistant and this be the sole reason for me not ovulating? What is the success rate of conception for women being treated for insulin resistance? Diabetes runs in my family, so does cancer, high blood pressure and heart disease. I am also overweight. Thanks for reading! Heather
