Hello there! I am on day 7 of stimulation and have a high E2 - 1898 and also have a number of large follies - at least 10 over 15mm and 44 total including a 20, 19, and several 18's and 17's. We have backed down the meds to only 1 menopur/day plus the lupron, but it is not slowing down.

What do you think about a day 8 ER? Everything that I have read discourages this due to the risk of egg quality, but my Dr. is concerned about hyperstimulation. Would love to get some feedback on the pro's and con's of egg quality vs. hyperstimulation. Thanks in advance!!

We find that if we perform an egg retrieval before the 11th or 12th day of stimulation, too high a percentage of the eggs are immature.

Doc - so do you think it is better to wait this out to day 9 or 10 and risk OHSS?

That is a decision for your program to make. There are a few other startageis to mnimize your risk of hyper stimulation.
