Doc, I have PCOS and just started clomid last cycle and didn't respond to 50 mg. I'm on provera right now for period to come. I have to go in on CD1-CD3 for ultrasound and I was wondering what my doc should see when she looks at them. She said if I have any cysts then I can't start my next round of clomid and have to wait. Should there not be any or should they be very small waiting to grow through the cycle? Thank you, Denise

our ovaries should always have small follicles (cysts). clomid is notorious for causing large cysts. I have not prescribed Clomid in about 15 years. For mor information, I invite you to see our web page at <www.texasfertility.com>. Good luck.

So what she should be checking for is any enlargement or abnormal cysts? I have read your website extensively and found it very helpful, this is just one of the questions I had.

I am glad you find our web page helpful. That is the intent. You are correct. If youhave a large residual cyst, you should not begin another Clomid cycle until the cyst(s) is gone.
