Can you tell me what cysts are and what they do? Is it normal for woman to have regular cysts? What is the treatment? Is treatment necessary?
Thank you, Heather

In young women, of reproductive age, 98% of ovarian cysts go away all by themselves, within 2 menstrual cycles. They require no treatment, and the only treatment which will make them go away sooner is surgey, which you do not need. If cyst persists after 2 cycles, it is abnormal until the pathologist proves otherwise. The follicles, which you want to have in your ovaries, are cystic structures. The dominant follicle in the cycle grows to be about 17 mm average diameter, before it ruptures to release the egg within it (ovulates). Good luck.
