Dr. Jacobs....
I have PCOS and am being treated with Metformin and Clomid. Since coming off birth control pills, I have only had one cycle on my own...it lasted about 3 days (more like a dark discharge)....my first cycle with Metformin and induced by Provera (had to take all 10 days worth of pills) lasted 3 days and again, was a dark discharge. This month, I am still taking Metformin and used Provera to induce my cycle....after only taking 3 pills of the Provera my period came....it was fresh this time : ), however, it still only lasted about 3 days. Before going on the pill and while on the pill, my period usually lasted about 6-7 days. Now only 3 days after stopping the pill.
Is this normal? Is it okay to only have a 3 day period?
Thanks so much!

Since you are not ovulating regularly, your periods will be unpredictable, form the standpoint of volume, duration and flow. Good luck.
